It's less than 4" in length, not 5.5". I have to return it unfortunately.

I have three doors with Schlage products from this line now and they are easy to install, very high quality and attractive. Many people have worried in the reviews about the fact that you have to flip the handle due to it being a left-sided door - but I have one set up as right and one set up as left and I don't even care or notice the shape difference any more. The auto-unlock feature is nice so you don't have to unlock it when you open it from the inside. And you don't need a locksmith - I have been getting each lock key-matched to my original schlage lock at home depot for $5 per lock before I install it! My only slight gripe is that I have to tighten the bolt about once a month on one of them - but it is a door that is on a tension hinge and the door slams if you let it go - which happens a lot here with kids. Recommended!

Great lock. Solid and heavy. Easy to install. Only complaint is when you use them in a hallway where the doors handles are in different sides, you have to flip the handle over (easy to do). However, one handle swoops down and the one next to it swoops up. If you are OCD (like me) it is annoying. I am getting used to it, but o wish they offered additional handles so everything looks standard.

This looks wonderful and matches the digital deadbolt I purchased also. I decided I wanted the lever doorknob instead of the traditional one, because I felt it would be easier to open when I had my hands full. And it is. I am very happy with this doorknob.

Schlage should be a quality product, but we were disappointed in this lockset (Schlage F51-ACC-CAM ).First the good points: solid lockset, and the decorative faceplates (rosettes?) are attractive -- they match the Schlage BE365 CAM 626 Camelot Keypad Deadbolt perfectly. I am renovating with the intent to sell, and have replaced six locksets (using Schlage, Stanley and Master locksets). I understand how to replace a handleset.Two major issues caused the problem: Schlage packaged two incorrect parts in the lockset kit.First, the two lever handles that were supplied were IDENTICAL when they should have been a pair of OPPOSITES. There was no way to reverse the levers so that they both faced down.Second, the faceplate for the inside of the door was impossible to mount -- it attached to nothing and had no holes for securing it to the lockset. when assembled, it rattled around and spun on the handle shaft. (Yes, the inside handle was all the way on). I think this inside faceplate and the accompanying inside handle were the OUTSIDE faceplate and handle from another lockset. Somebody somewhere got two inside faceplates and handles in their order. This was a real PIA. We were showing the house that day and I had to use parts from the old Schlage set that this was replacing to make it work.

I picked this up as a used item in "used - like new" condition in original packaging. It was to replace a 22 y/o Schlage lever door knob/lock on my backdoor which is still working but shiney gold. It's time for an update. The door knob that was sent to me was 100% unusable with the key stuck in the lock and the lock tongue damaged by the previous owner obviously having to pry their door open after the key got stuck. I can't believe that Amazon resold this, and resold it as "like new" condition.I have Schlage door knobs and locks on all my doors, and my 22 year old shiney gold door knobs and locks are still looking good and functioning fine. I planned to donate them once I have replacements. But maybe I'll just try painting them with rustoleum and see how that goes before investing in new ones that may not work as well as what I have (given that someone had a key get stuck and had to pry the door open with this lock).

Awesome product was easy to install and looks exactly as shown on the pics
