A Sea Symphony - Study score: Symphony No. 1

It is not as clear a print as I had expected, clarity .... It is the complete score, however.

A fascinating work by a great British composer. I’ve known this work for over 55 years, and it still thrills me.

The score is rather small, making it difficult to read, and quite a lot of it looks rather poorly printed (blurred, basically). I was also rather disappointed that my copy arrived with a great big 'dog ear', meaning that the first 37 pages have an annoying crease in their top-left/top-right corners. A smaller dog-ear at the back means the final 20 pages have a bit less annoying crease in their bottom left/right corners. It's a shame, as I had previously ordered Marriage of Figaro in full score from the same supplier -and that arrived in a nice, sturdy cardbox container, properly protected front, back and sides. It therefore arrived in perfect condition. But this score arrived in a little heavy-card envelope and was nowhere near nicely protected. Hence the damage, I guess.All that said, I've wedged the score between all my other books and most of the creases are out; the blurring isn't so bad I can't use the score, and it's small size does at least make it easy to hold for extended periods. So, I'm left with a reasonable score with which to follow and study a wonderful symphony, so I won't complain too much!

ヴォーン=ウィリアムズの「海の交響曲（交響曲第1番）」・・・独唱・合唱付の大作です！冒頭のホルンとトランペットのファンファーレに続き、合唱のトゥッティ「Be hold, the sea・・・」からして圧倒されます・・・4楽章全てに独唱・合唱が入る、コーラス・ファンには堪らない作品です！！厚さが２ｃｍもあり、手に持っただけで圧倒されます・・・ＣＤ聴きながら譜面を追うだけならこれで十分間に合います、お薦め！！！
