This attwood Heavy Duty Transom Saver is my 3rd in 12 years and the quality hasn't diminished at all. Why 3 you might ask? My son sold his boat then bought another which accounts for 2 out of the 3. I still have my original I bought 12 yrs ago and even having to replace the rubber pads every few years, Attwood is my GOTO brand to protect my transom trip after trip., year after year. 5 STAR product - 5 Star Seller!

This is a good quality product. Here is why...It is completely made of metal except the rubber bumpers and bungee cord. However, it is not made of a heavy metal; it is made of lightweight metal, mostly aluminum. This helps to keep the weight down and makes it easy to handle. I have a 17 foot fishing boat, so lighter, strong material is good.The two swivel bumper heads, at the engine end of the transom saver, not only swivel to easily accommodate the angle of your engine lower end but, each one also has an extra bolt hole to adjust for the width of your lower end. Mine arrived adjusted too narrow; I simply removed the bolts and reassembled in the alternate position. It then fit perfectly to my Mercury 90 horse engine.The length is adjustable. I have mine adjusted to the shortest setting at 24". There is one bolt that sets it in place at the length you want.The three nuts on this item (two for the swivel heads and one for the length adjustment) all have self-locking nuts. Therefore there is no fear of them coming loose on the road.The bungee cord is a standard black rubber cord with two metal S hooks. This is the good kind of cord and not the cloth covered ones. This bungee is the perfect size for my engine. It would be too short if my engine were any larger. The cord hooks easily into the two pre-drilled holes on the main portion of the head.When installed, the swivel heads grip firmly onto the engine and prevent the engine from tilting to one side and keeps it from bouncing around.I highly recommend this product.

capacity "Transom Saver" really works. Relieves the strain on transom that carrying your big outboard unsupported creates. A must for those long trips to the water.

Although the pictures of the transom saver are poor the product is great. I had this same unit for 10 years for my Triton boat with a 250 horse outboard. The old one was showing signs of fatigue. The sticker on my old unit shows PN P142A and so does the new one - an exact match!

Has non of the factory stamps of other Atwood transom savers I have owned. Looks poorly made. We will see how it does going down the road, but not very optimistic at this point.

1). Quality wasn’t as described, returned the was it came fully packaged as not satisfied but never used. 2). Free Return location is over 1hr away. Otherwise, customer chooses its own carrier and pays for shipping. (Doesn’t matter if you’re a primer member or not). 3). Seller charged approx 20% for the return. Seller 100% not recommended. Shipping service not convenient. Bad quality. And charges 20% for returns????? Insane. Never in Amazon had to pay 20% of the product for a return. This is the only one.

Arrived on time and is the correct item at a good price ($65.29) Had to modify to make it work with my old boat and motor but that was fine, easy to modify.

Aluminum tubing is poor quality had to make some modifications but has done the job
