4 stars. Good idea.
I have had 2 of these mesh gates up for about 2 weeks now. I give them 4 stars instead of 5 because they are not completely flawless but they do work. When I first opened them the plastic chemical smell was overwhelming but it didn’t last for longer than a day. Installation was easy, and it comes with tips on how to secure the sticker hooks to the wall. The adhesive on those hooks is strong enough to take paint off the wall (and it did!) when the hook itself came apart from the square base. The gates come with spare hooks so I just replaced the broken one. I don’t believe it broke on its own, and most likely did because my daughter had to learn how to unhook without yanking. I only had to replace one hook so far but I’m pretty happy with the mesh gate idea. We have a 4 year old bulldog and a new bulldog puppy and both seem to be leaving the gates alone. The older dog would go through it if he knew how but he avoids them. The puppy hasn’t figured out how to get through it yet either. There’s a sweet spot to making the gate a tight fit without making it so tight it will break the hooks. I use these to block the entrance to both sets of stairs. Having these beats having wooden gates. I have had all sorts of wooden gates over the years and they always eventually became a problem like making holes in the drywall and just being a pain.If I could make an improvement to the design of these I would want sturdier loops and hooks but that’s it. I could probably alter these myself.Update: it’s been almost a month and and a half since I put these gates up. They are still working but I do have some advice. Buy metal screw hooks and don’t use the adhesive ones that come with the gate. The hooks that come with it have very strong adhesive but the plastic hook comes off leaving just a flat sticker for you to deal with. I should have done the metal screw hooks from the start.

Houdini
We bought this gate to put ay the bottom of our stairs to keep our mastiff puppy downstairs and prevent our 18 mos old from climbing the stairs. Much to our dismay both have out smarted us/gate. The baby crawls underneath and somehow the mastiff is able to unlatch the bottom hooks. He has also scratched and put holes on the mesh. Do not recommed for smart dogs or adventerous babies. It also had a strong plastic smell the first few days.

This will work perfectly for heavy medium and up
Our dog just sneaked under the fence but it is sturdy. This will work perfectly for medium to larger dogs. The hooks that comes with the net, are very strong and will stick firmly, but you are also able to remove and use again. Well at least I did. Customer service was quick to respond to concerns too.

Cheap and does not do a good job of keeping any relatively excitable dog contained.
So first off, this thing is cheap and lightweight material. I bought this for separating my dogs from each other while i am gone, they are just too rowdy to be together. I saw this and thought it looked easy and would be sturdy enough to withstand some light force. That was wrong. My dogs ripped it in fifteen minutes and could easily stretch it out and stick their heads between the sides. So unless your dog makes no effort to get past a barricade and is less than ten pounds. Replaced this with an actual baby gate and that works significantly better.

Easy to use, not for pushy or small pets
I needed a temporary barrier while introducing a foster cat into the household. This mesh gate is perfect as it's not permanent, it attaches to 4 hooks, and it's a nice fine mesh that allows pets to see each other, sniff each other, but still be separated. It's a bit large for my doorway so I had wrap one side around. The bottom doesn't fit tightly to the floor though. Not an issue with my cat, the barrier is tall enough that he doesn't attempt to jump over, he's too large to go under, and thankfully he hasn't tried to go through it. Foster kitty though... little 6 pound Persian will shimmy himself under to go exploring. Works well enough for our purposes!

cheap, easy alternative to dog gate
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Thankfully my pitty is a big goof and adorably sees ANY kind of barrier as insurmountable (used a wire gate for years that she could literally push over with her nose but she never once touched it). She’s not a jumper or escape artist so this works well in our situation! Would not recommend if your babies are otherwise, as other reviews have mentioned it’s not exactly difficult to push under/against.The sticky back on the hooks are quite strong and since I used it on a staircase, secured it with zip ties. We’ll see how long it holds up but so far so good! Convenience for a couple bucks... can’t complain.

High quality
Great product. I have had two in situ for the past 10 weeks to keep my lab puppy safe in an open plan house with larger than average openings. The only problem at the moment is she fits through the cat flap. She looks too big but just glides on through. No problem for me as the cat is terrified of her anyway so won't go near the gate yet. As she gets bigger they will be invaluable. She tries everything in her power to jump up and get over it but just can't do it provided you lock the red clip in place. If I don't lock it down she can jump up and open it and escape. As I said they have been there for 10 weeks between lounge and kitchen and are as firmly locked in place today as when we fitted them without any adjustments. They are strong and easy to use. Highly recommended. A life saver of a product with a puppy.
