Favorite Wildflowers Coloring Book (Dover Flower Coloring Books)

Very pleased with book.

I've been coloring my whole life, both for pleasure and to decompress after a bad day at work. Coloring for adults to relax has been promoted recently, as though it's a novel idea- even though many of us have been doing it for decades lol! I've seen some of those coloring books for 'grownups', and they're all boring and ugly. There's plenty of good ones around, always has been. I especially liked this one. I love wildflowers and often go scouting for ones to add to my list, just like bird watchers do. So I was really happy to run across this one!

I got 7 of these books and love coloring them. You can get really creative. I don't have an artist's talent, so I enjoy creating my own color combinations, although there are colored pictures of all of them on the covers so you can follow those or come up with your own. These aren't not kids coloring books! They are more detailed, and I use colored pencils on some, fine point gel pens on others and a wide range of felt tip colors on most. I usually do these in the evening when I need to wind down and they work wonders for me. Even without artistic talent, I love my renderings.

Bought for granddaughter and she loves it

While my wife's recent stroke has temporarily deprived her of her gardening, we still take trips to the local wildflower gardens. Between visits, she colors the wildflowers shown in Favorite Wildflowers Coloring Book, lovingly, as if visiting old friends. Even though this is a part of the therapy I try to provide, her love of these wildflowers was never lost, and she still has a few of the flowers shown in the pages of this book, in our garden, and eagerly anticipates the time she can return to that garden. This book has been a wonderful experience in her rehabilitation, and I would recommend it highly to any wildflower lover.

Very nice drawings. Be aware that the pages are printed on both sides so if you use permanent ink markers for coloring, the colors will bleed through the paper. Therefore, you have to decide beforehand which of the drawing you want to color. Or - you could always buy two copies and have them all! ;-)

Of all the coloring books I have purchased, this is the first one I have colored all the pages before going to another book. I did three pages a day a couple of times. This book is a good break from the extreme detail on other books. You still get a small sample picture of the way the flower really looks, which is always a bonus. You can still take artistic liberty with the colors if you prefer.

Beautiful drawings, easy to identify and color. An excellent assortment (44 of them!) of very common flowering plants. Each page includes the picture (simple line drawings, but includes significant identification details), the common name, the Latin name and a brief description including color of the blossoms, size of the plant, when it blossoms, where it's typically located, and other unique details. All plants pictured are in bloom.

Lovely book, unlike other books I've got this book does not show you a coloured picture opposite as a guide, I don't mind this, the pictures are inside the front and back covers.One grumble is pictures printed both sides 😕

I haven't started using this book yet but am colouring in garden flowers which I am really enjoying. I have quite a few books on the go. I am sure I will enjoy the Wildflowers just as much. I find these books very relaxing. I do find that it is best to use pencils as the pens show through the pages as the paper could be better quality.

I didn't realise that this was an American book. I wanted British wild flowers. However, the seller wacwuick to dispatch and the book is lovely, even though it isn't what I wanted.
