Great tool, good price
I purchased these to replace a cheap set that I got as part of one of those everything you need to get started kits. My stitches look 1000 times better now. The tines would bend going through 6oz or so with the previous ones but not with these. I use a little beeswax on these and the results are so much better now.

Good for beginners
These chisels from weaver are great starting chisels for anyone wanting to get into leather working/leather craft. 5mm is a bit wide for things like watch straps or small wallets, but will be fine for thick wallets or bags. You gotta start somewhere. Just remember to stop often, and beeswax helps the leather not get stuck so bad after punching.

No Weaver branding. Kind of short.
Very sharp kind of short did not have the weaver etching on it.

Great tools
Weaver's tools are all really good. May E not pro level but definitely good enough for the hobbyist.

Great value, good construction, on this leather iron pricking set.
Nice diamond prong leather hole punch irons. These are nicely made and have a great point on them. A variety of width to choose from and they are light and easy to use all day. Love that they come in a set so you can choose how many teeth you need. So far have used them on about 8 different projects and the teeth are still sharp, but it will depend on what they are digging into besides the leather.

Excellent product
By far the best looking and most even stitch line ive gotten is with these. Depending on how thick the leather is, its pretty easy to remove. Decently durable as ive been using them daily for almost a month.

See Product Description: - Country of Origin: USA - Material Color: Stainless Steel - Material: Other What I received: - Country of Origin: CHINA - Material Color: Chrome - Material: Dead soft Chinesium mild steel One doesn't even need to see the "Made in China" label on the box to realize the origin is NOT USA; look at the grind quality, finish, and blunted tips and it's readily apparent that these punches are Chinese junk. There are punches here on Amazon for far cheaper because they're actually HONEST about being made in China. Leatherworking tools need to be SHARP especially if you're punching holes for stitching. Out of all 13 points included across the 4 punches, I would consider one of the points acceptably sharp. Be prepared to sharpen these yourself with a file...repeatedly as they're used. Furthermore, being one who's been working with metal for more than 20 years, I can plainly see these are not stainless steel but chrome plated - you don't chrome plate stainless. To prove my claim I ground the chrome plating on one of the punches and hit it with hydrogen peroxide and salt while treating a piece of 316 stainless steel exactly the same - this chinesium punch immediately rusted. Furthermore, based on the spark profile from grinding it, there's effectively no carbon in this punch - meaning it cannot be hardened which means it won't stay sharp throughout use. I'm pretty pissed frankly not because they're made in China but because the product description said they're NOT; if the description said they're Chinese and that's what I consciously purchased - no problem...but I chose these because I thought they were actually American Made. I'm not returning them - I consciously gave that up when I performed destructive testing on them but do yourselves a favor and avoid this dishonest seller. I've got a 5 Ton arbor press that I can use once I sharpen these but if you're planning on using a mallet to drive these through multiple layers of leather - Godspeed.

As a beginner, using free patterns online, I find this spacing doesn't match the more popular 5mm spacing. They are great chisel though.
