Great Game
This is a great remake of the original game for the gameboy with 3D graphics and the ability for Pokémon to sit on your shoulder, follow you or for you to ride on them. The two player feature is very nice.

The best pokemon game to date.
There are a lot of bad reviews saying that there are no longer pokemon battles. Let me tell you this is absolutely false. True you don't battle wild pokemon, but you very much still have pokemon battles with npcs everywhere you go.That said, let me say that I love the new pokemon catching mechanic. While it's true you don't fight wild pokemon, it feels much more interactive now, as you have to aim and time your pokeball throwings. It feels a lot more skill based than luck based now.At first I was skeptical about no longer having random encounters, but I've come to actually love it. Let's face it, random encounters could be annoying as hell in the older games, especially if you got 3 in one patch of grass. Now you can run around pokemon for the most part...but you still get a taste of the random element because sometimes they'll spawn right in front of you. Fine by me.I also love that they gave one of the OG games some love and care. I really despise the latest pokemon generations because they just don't even look like pokemon anymore. When the designers start to make them resemble man-made objects, then you know they're out of ideas and just milking it at this point. But in this game there is only the first gen, the best gen, and that's fine by me. Of course it seems you can import newer pokemon from Pokemon GO if you really want to, but I don't plan on using that feature.

Great family game
We bought this for my 10 year old and she loves it. I never expected my husband and I to also enjoy it but we do! We can all play together and work together to catch pokemon and battle other trainers. We enjoy the TCG so having that prior knowledge makes this game even more fun. Highly recommend!

Solid nostalgia
Super fun game. If you're into the series you'll be mostly happy. The leveling convention (catch vs battle) is very different. If you can enjoy that everything else is fantastic.

Pure 90s Nostalgia but better
The game is a must have for any 90s pokemon fan: I had the original pokemon yellow as a kid and this is an even better version. I love how you can pet pikachu and interact with one other pokemon in your party: the graphics are twenty times better than the gameboy version and the game play much more inclusive and respectful. Highly recommend to any pokemon fan, regardless of age or familiarity with the original edition, though. Lots of fun!

great game to play with your kids
Awesome game to play with your kids. Allows me to relive the glory days of playing red/blue when I was a kid. It's the same game just modernized a bit. It's important to not that this doesn't work with the pro-controller. This only works with a single wavebird controller at a time.

Gift For New Time Gamer
Purchased as a gift for a 50 year old who recently got into gaming. Pokémon Snap was her preferred game, so I got her this version of Pokémon since it would be easier for her to dive into. She really enjoys the ease of the game, from the parts I have seen, it’s a simplified Pokémon experience (more like the 90’s gameboy). If she can pick it up, anyone can!

Perfect
This game is perfect if you have a little one you would like to introduce to pokemon. I used to have a game boy waaay back when and loved pokemon yellow. This is a little different but was really easy to play with my little one
