These are the hot setup as far as makeup mirrors go. We have one in our other bathroom that's 20 years old and going strong. We needed one over the guest suite bathroom vanity so I went for another of the same model (slightly updated, but same great design).I thought I was buying the plug-in version because the box shows a two-prong cord. It turns out this is the hard-wired version (they use the same picture on both boxes unfortunately), meant to be wired into a circular (ceiling lamp) circuit box. Long story short, I ended up wiring it in and although it took most of a Saturday, the result is super clean and was worth the effort. I was able to run a short length of Romex down to the GFCI outlet immediately below where we were going to install this anyway and this approach avoids an unsightly cord as well as frees up a socket in the wall outlet for hair-dryers and all those other power tools for morning and out-on-the-town preparations.As a makeup mirror it's definitely five stars, just docked one to encourage Jerdon to spend the extra few bucks to have a different picture on their hard-wired version.

The lighting for this product is totally ineffective. It is so dim that the entire product is unusable. Plus the light source is a 25 watt incandescent light bulb. Since this product was installed, I could not return it. I purchased a different product from a different manufacturer which worked well with a much brighter LED light source

While on a trip recently the hotel I stayed in had this mirror in the bathroom. I fell in love with it and wrote down the brand name and model # and came home and searched online. I purchased it and I am so happy I did. There are a lot of these types of mirrors but in my experience they are far too flimsy. This one is very sturdy and stays where you adjust it to. It also hugs the wall well enough when not in use that it is not in the way. I just love having a mirror to put makeup on and do a little tweezing and I don't have to bend over or arch my neck forward to see--it pulls right up to me and I hung it at just the perfect height for me--it has made my life much easier--and my makeup application so much faster. I have no complaints at all.

Love this mirror. Use it every morning to apply makeup. It did take a couple of days to get used to the 3x magnification though. Very simple to install if you have a drill. Waited for my husband to install it but grew impatient and did it myself. Probably took about 15 minutes. I was a bit worried that it might be too heavy for the drywall since there were no studs where I wanted to put it, but with the anchors it's very stable. The light isn't enough to use on it's own but is great if you have other lighting in the area. It helps in eliminating shadows. Does not fog. Has a very high end look to it.

It's a nice mirror. However I was expecting it to have mirror on both sizes. When I had seen light mirrors in the Hotels they have usually had a regular side and magnifying side. This is a magnifying mirror with light and don't get me wrong I still think is a good purchase and I propably should have read more on the description. It's just wasn't what I was expecting. However, it's great to put on make up and my husband loves shaving his beard with this mirror.

The mirror was great.

This is an amazingly nice, sturdy and attractive lighted mirror. You just mount it to the wall with two screws and plug it in. The light nicely and evenly lights up the mirror. The cord was thoughtfully designed as a coiled cord, which spares the looks of the bathroom from yet another tangle of extra lengths of electrical cord. Perhaps the electric toothbrush manufacturers will take the hint. The mirror is perfectly ground and polished, as is the chrome plating on the arms and base. I've attached a couple of pictures of this excellent bathroom accessory.

GREAT product! I HAD to buy it after I used the one in my hotel on my vacation. I had a hell of a time INSTALLING it, but once it was up I was very pleased. I would recommend to those looking for a magnifying mirror.

The light is way to dim. It is impossible to do your makeup in anything but broad daylight with this mirror. I also wish the extendable arm was much longer. I really regret the money spent on this because I could have gotten a plain extendable mirror for way less money because the light is basically useless.

We tested it but it was not very bright compared to our last one. We returned it.

The light could have been a little brighter, besides that it is a good solid product
