It cannot be called a mattock. A mattock is a two-handed tool, swung from the hip and over the head. This is a small hand adze, fossil-hammer, or perhaps a tool to pick your teeth after a good meal. I am sure it is a very passable hand-adze. But it is NOT a mattock

In contrast to some other reviewers I did read the instructions and got exactly what I wanted. How you can give a low feedback score for your own mis-read of the specs I do not understand. Try and be reasonable. Rant complete....This is a small grubbing mattock for small work, not for trench work but for on your knees or in a raised bed etc, grubbing and chopping, de-rooting and breaking up the soil for planting on a small scale, which is exactly what it does and does exactly perfectly. A good light, but enough, weight in the head for chopping roots at low body level. Good solid handle and sharp enough choppers. Perfect for what it says it's good for. Thank you.
