Glenn hughes, aka the voice of rock, recently inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame as part of deep purple, is back with his 14th studio album. Resonate might well be the most heavy sounding glenn hughes (black country communion, california breed, iommi) solo album to date, but still retains the elements that make glenn one of the most soulful and beautiful voices in the current musical landscape. A must for all hard rock lovers.

Its HEAVY!!
The man can do no wrong to my ears.Just some straight up heavy rock n roll. His voice is still great considering what he's been through.I hope he tours near me soon...I would love to see him with a band.I did get to catch him doing a seminar for his amps a few years back and he was a real cool guy.I love Black Country Communion and California Breed ...something worth checking as well

"Resonate" Glenn's best solo albums
This is definitely one of Glenn Hughes best solo albums. He has a one of the best soulful rock voices in the business. Get ready haters, Glenn is one of the "Voice's of Rock" but not the only one. I can name some others alive and passed away that are on or were on the same level that he is. I have always lived by musician's don't need to label themselves or say how good they are they should let their playing or singing do the talking. His back up band is fantastic as is his bass playing. If you are a fan of the Hammond B3 Organ Lachy Doley brings it. To me they held Soren Anderson back on guitar.Very few guitar leads and the man can play. Chad Smith did a great job sitting in on "Heavy" and "Long Time Gone" while Pontus Engborg rounded out the group. Again Resonate is a great album and worth buying. Not a bad song on the CD. Again, don't hate me too much.

It Does...
Resonate. Some stuff on here that will make the hair on your neck stand up. I confess I haven't kept up as much I'd like with Mr. Hughes since the glory days, mostly limited to the Iommi/Sabbath album. This is a fairly remarkable recording though, I must say. At once a throwback and thoroughly modern. Hard, heavy and soulful, often at the same time, and I'm not sure his voice has ever sounded better on record. I've sampled some of the BCC stuff, and this record just sounds better than any of what I heard there. Perhaps a bit over the top now and then, but a glorious excess in any case. Purple People, catch up with an old mate!

For everyone who really knows what is the Hard Rock music about!! What a delight that you get an album that has more than one song that rocks your soul .. Every track was a tasty morsel of a 12 course sound buffet. Each song has its own flavor, was completely different, and well produced. Wether you like your rock progressive, classic, or fused this disc is for you

very nice........
I bought this because I really enjoyed the Black Country Communion records. I think this is even better. The band really sounds live on this one. I thought the guitars and keys on this were top notch, not to mention Glenn's singing and bass playing have never sounded better. There are a few videos on yutube if you are interested, but get this. IT ROCKS!

Gotta hand it to him. This guy still rocks hard.
This is a great record. I don't usually rock out like this, and I really wasn't sure I liked it on the first spin. But by the 3rd play through I was really hooked. Glen is a force of nature. Remarkable how much energy this guy puts out after all these years. His voice is fantastic. His bass playing and the other players are firing on all cylinders. Production like a big rock monster. Unapologetic and arse-kickin'.

Fantastic Record!
Somewhere down the line we will find out what the magic was behind the incredible gift that is Glenn Hughes. With his fourteenth studio album Resonate now out, it seems that not even time can slow this man down.Glenn Hughes seems to be a man who doesn't like to be sitting around doing nothing. If he's not releasing an endless string of solo albums, he is hard at work with Black Country Communion, or putting more bands together like the recent, California Breed. The quality of these records have always been consistent with Hughes putting as much of himself as he can in each record.Resonate from 2016 is another very well put together, extremely professional sounding recording that will please fans of Hughes. The man has opted for the same ultra dirty heavy sound that was found on California Breed with the heavily distorted bass guitar and a wall of fuzz guitar style. Unlike that previous album however, Hughes utilises a lot more melody and that soulful funk style that can be found throughout his back catalogue. It is a fine balance between Glenn's previous work and the more up to date sound that he has been pursuing as of late. The vocal performance is about as fine as you'd expect. If there is one thing you can say about Glenn Hughes, it is that the power behind his voice has never dwindled. The man can still belt it out better than anyone out there and does so at the best of his abilities on Resonate. Like his other performances, some people might not be able to take his over the top vocal style but long time fans will love what he belts out here. He sounds just as gifted, passionate and powerful as he always has been.Much like his other albums, the backing musicians are all of high standards. Soren Andersen plays some pretty mean guitar. Pontus Engborg handles the drum duties for the most part with Chad Smith coming in to handle the tracks, Heavy and Long Time Gone. I particularly enjoyed the use of keyboards and the way that the traditional rock hammond organ creeps in ever so subtly after each song, only to come out of its shell on the last half of the record.Resonate is one of those albums that I don't think will turn fans on to Glenn Hughes' work, but it will please fans of old. It isn't quite as good as Addiction or Soul Mover but it certainly holds its own against the vast majority of his past work. If you're already deep into the work of Glenn Hughes and do not own Resonate already, I do suggest you do so without hesitation.Published by Steven Lornie of Demonszone

Glenn Hughes Is The Voice of Rock!
Glenn Hughes, is indeed, the voice of rock.I was a fan of Glenn's from his contributions to Black Country Communion so thought I'd check out his solo back catalog and this is a fantastic startring point.I honestly do not think there's a duff track on this album. From beginning to end the songs are strong, the muscianship is very solid and the voice, well, the voice soars on every song.Highly recommended for BCC fans or anyone looking for a modern rock classic.

Glenn Hughes brilliant performer
I'm a 60 year old rock fan and Glenn has always been one of my heroes.I used to live just down the road from him in the 70's.Followed him through his brilliant Trapeze days (Purple/ Sabbath so on) But this is the best solo album Glenn has made.As the first track says it's So Heavy.

Resonating still after all the years!
A class act and Glenn does not disappoint here, the musical content is equally as good as his Purple days and this really shows that Glenn still is relevant and can not only belt the songs out, but write quality songs too.The packaging is of great quality and the coloured vinyl not only sounds great but looks amazing.

Inspiration and Power
Can Glenn do no wrong? He just gets better, and this sees no slackening in his inspiration and power. If he's on such good form, the BCC reunion should be spectacular!
