Monogrammed Hand Towel, Personalized Gift, 16 x 30 inches - Set of 2 - Silver Embroidered Towel - Extra Absorbent 100% Turkish Cotton- Soft Terry Finish - for Bathroom, Kitchen and Spa- Script W Gray

When I got these towels, I was EXTREMELY impressed. They are quite expensive, so I was expecting to be. The towels themselves are quite luxurious--thick and lustrous 100% cotton, even opulent, I'd say, a grade you'd expect to find in a fine hotel. So to was the embroidered monogram, a silver W--extremely well done.HOWEVER, their impressiveness was, sadly, short-lived! Whoever does the embroidery, which I think is the seller, fails to prewash these 100% cotton towels before embroidering. The result of that is when you wash the towels for the first time, the towel shrinks about 10%, as one would expect, but the embroidery does NOT shrink. The result is the embroidery is now bigger than the towel its on causing the towel to pucker and be all distorted, to not lie flat.I'd bought two sets of these towels as a gift for my mom for her birthday. Her common bathroom, the one company uses, is newly remodeled and large, 14' x 14', one of those with an outer area where there is a vanity and tub/shower and an inner bathroom that occupies the corner where there is a toilet and a sink. The walls are light gray and all fixtures, doors, and cabinets white. These towels were meant to be a fitting accent, and finding dark gray was extremely fitting. One towel would hang flat across a rod to the left of the sink and vanity in the outer bathroom, displaying the W. The other towel would be tri-folded and hung on a ring immediately to the left of her new pedastal sink in the inner bathroom, displaying the W.You can't even see that the W is a W, it distorts and misshapes the towel so badly. For her new, "hotel-suite" quality bathroom, I wanted to give her a gift of hand towels that would match that and accent that. At first, that's what I thought I'd gotten, but then she washed them before putting them up, as she does because you don't know where they've been, and when they came out of the wash, they looked a mess. We tried flattening them, pulling at them, stretching them to try and get them to lie flat, but to no avail. So, hung up, the towel is crumpled and distorted and you can't even tell the W is a W.What the embroiderer SHOULD DO is what hotels do and PREWASH the towel BEFORE EMBROIDERING so that they're already shrunk. I'm sure the seller doesn't do this because the seller wants to keep the sizing agent in them and the sheen they have from the manufacturer that makes them look so wonderful and luxurious, but by not doing it, the seller is creating a massively inferior product that is unsuitable, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $24 FOR A PAIR OF HAND TOWELS!!!It's like when you go to H&M or something and buy this absolutely gorgeous shirt that you love, but the first time you wash it, following the instructions given of course, the shirt is suddenly such a complete, unsalavageable mess that you can't even wear it. That's what this is, except we didn't even get to the fun of wearing it even once because of the need to wash new towels before using them for the first time.Being that my mom's washed them, I don't feel I can return them. Also, they were a birthday gift, and my mom being my mom, one who never wants to hurt anyone's feelings, insists on keeping them, that they're "not that bad." But $50 for four hand towels should be a far cry better than "not that bad." They should be "fan-freaking-tastic!" So, my mom still has these towels and hangs them in her bathroom, as ugly as they are, because they're from her son, kind of like when she used to hang my ugly drawings on the fridge when I was a kid just because I was the one who gave it to her.Brass Tacks: Poor. Poor. Poor. DON'T BUY!!! Your 100% satisfaction turns into 100% disappointment at their first wash.

Picture #1 in brand new Picture #2 is being washed once.I washed these once to hang them and the embroider looked horrible, I tried to iron to flatten back out the Initial but it hasn't helped, the actual towel didn't wash up well either, the look of the towel is now different and the coloring doesn't have that luster color anymore, more dull, not as soft. I highly recommend if you purchase these NOT to wash them if you are using for looks. I am very disappointed and purchased several of them.

I ordered two sets of towels monogrammed with the initials of my kids on them. The two towel sets were ordered at the same time and I wanted to display one towel with each letter for my kid's names. One set is longer than the other and the two sets each have different trim at the bottom. Very unsatisfied as they both hang in the bathroom together and look like different towels. I sent notice to seller but so far no response. Will send back.

After the first wash, they looked like this...one looked like almost nothing had happened...the other shriveled up a little. We noticed that there is no embroidery stiffener backing on the towels, which I think would help with the issue. Overall, still satisfied..the iron will help bring some of this out, but not all. This is why I rated only 4 stars. Otherwise, very nice towels for a great price.

These are incredibly nice towels for the price. They are very soft to the touch and the embroidering is top notch. I also ordered the embroidered bath towels to go along with the hand towels.

No you can not use them. But yes they are great to look at! They have served their purpose well!I get plenty of compliments from guests. I would gift them to anyone who is into monogrammed items or decorating!

These are actually pretty nice towels! I use them to wash my face and keep them separate from the other hand towels. You should definitely wash them first because they have a residue or coating on them from manufacturing. They are very soft and pretty thick as well. I've only washed them a few times, but they seem to be holding up pretty well.

I love the quality of these hand towels. I’ve washed them several times, and the monogram comes out looking just as it did when they were new.
