Good to have pics of the stones you own or want. Book from the 1990's, so a lot of "new" stones are not in it.

This books do d of exactly what I exactly what I expected.

I was actually very pleased with this product since I chose one of the cheaper choices and I got a very gently used item Great buy, love it!!!

Beautiful photos to identify any gem or mineral.

I purchased this copy used and its in excellent condition. If I had paid full new price I would have returned it. Much of the images are staged poorly making it difficult to see the details of the stone you're trying to identify.It does give the breakdown of mineral content & place of origin of stones.I would not recommend this book.

A great pictorial, includes rare stones

This is the essential pictorial companion to the Love is in the Earth - A Kaleidoscope of Crystals (no pictures). This is still considered as one of the major books on the mystical interpretation of crystals. Even though it is now a few years old, it still contains many crystals that the newer 'Bibles' don't.

Good ref book

Great book for crystal enthusiasts.

Be careful: Make sure you are not expecting to recieve an updated version of their earlier book --costing over $100 this book is just a photographic listing of rocks that provides only their geological information--useless to a jewelry maker unless you are a hard core rock hound. This is not very clear in the descriptions, which are confusing in terms of differentiating the books and new editions of books they are selling. As a jewelry maker this book was completely useless to me. I offered to send it back at my own expense and exchange it for one of their other books on gemstone properties etc. but they seemed to think that was too much bother. I only got half of the $100 plus back and have a book that is useless to me. Very, very disappointed in this company.
