Liszt -- 21 Selected Piano Works: Book & CD (Alfred Masterwork Edition)

Binding and printing is pretty nice, it contains fingerings and pedal markingsHowever, this book doesn't contain the other Liebestraum, (only has no.3 and 1st version of no.2), the Widmung transcription was also the simplified version. Only a few pieces like Liebestraum 3, 6 consolations, valse oubilee, romance in e minor and Standchen are well known.It does have a CD too for you to listen to.

Great publisher. The reason I gave it 4 stars was that my book was a bit damaged on the spine when I got it. Now a part of the book (when opened) looks like the pages might start falling out😢 I didn’t send it back because I wanted to get started learning a piece and thought it would be Ok. Oh well. I learned my lesson. I do Love the music though!

These pieces by Liszt are quite difficult and I need to practice a lot to be able to play them. They are such gorgeous classical pieces and well worth the effort to perfect them.

Once again the Alfred edition is "the go -to" edition for students. Lovely selection of pieces. The disc can be used as a learning tool or as auditory candy. I keep ours in my car.

Phenomenal Romantic pieces. Especially the Lieberstraum, Romance, and Standchen. The notations are carefully written and easy to read. The pages are also flexible and easy to maintain in place as you play. Well worth the money

Although all pieces are the works of Liszt, most of its contents is an earlier version of the Liszt's works. The only "worthy" pieces are the Consolacions, Valse Oublee, and Liebestraum no 3.

I bought this book because I needed the sheet for Widmung. To my horror, the put the simplified version of Widmung in this compilation. Who ever performs that version?The rest of the book is decent.

Very nicely published book with a nice biography included. The purchaser of this book will definitely gain some insight to the wonderful music of Franz Liszt.

Some pieces are fine. But a lot of them aren't complete. I've read that these are older versions of the pieces and because of that are incomplete. I.E: Missing 8-16 bar sections in the intro. The problem with that, is that some of the pieces in this book aren't written the way they are almost always performed these days. I'd definitely say stay clear of this book and buy the individual pieces elsewhere if you can. If you cannot afford to do that, this is a good substitute

I like the pieces and the CDis very good. I wish, like many books of music, I could get the pages to stay open at the right place
