I made sure to use a measure from the description to estimate the actual size which on paper looked really small. I needed somthing just like this to be smaller than most other things like this are. The pictures of it make it seem bigger than it really is but sometimes you need somthing to be smaller than bigger. As for the quality, it's great quality. It's got those machined lines from what seems to be from it being lathed from a solid peice of aluminum. It's got a little oring to seal it and tight smooth threads.

When Squibb raised my prescription price to a $500 co-pay, I started thinking maybe the pills didn't need to be in a cheap container 20 times their size with little or no light protection. This little jar works well for housing those precious pills while allowing NO light to degrade them.

If you need this for culinary things then it will work well to keep your stuff fresh. But my herbs are a bit "unique" in that I have to buy it in bulk. It doesn't hold a little more than an ounce so keep that in mind.

Does not hold the smell of herbs in.

I like the size of this jar it's threaded well cap stays on and in place

It was much smaller than I expected it to be. I put some ground sage into the jar & it is definitely smell proof so that was a major plus.
