What a great way to start or end the day. Short,incitful, amusing,heart warming,leaves one wanting to see what’s next in this mans thoughts.

Doyle is a favorite of mine-- these essays are deeply moving- find myself laughing and weeping at the same time-- true Celtic spirit:>) They are so powerful that I can only read one or two at a time--great essays for all-but as a returning catholic I love his capacity to grapple with the mystery and beauty that is right along side the crazy blindness- and even sinfulness- of this huge church. He is a gift--

There are about 5-6 of these pieces that just took my breath away with their beauty and depth, and many that were good and enjoyable to read. There was just a little filler stuff.It was a pleasure to wander through these thoughts, and I’m grateful for Brian Doyle’s writing.

Brian Doyle is a wonderful writer. St. Ignatius of Loyola invites us to "find God in all things." Brian Doyle does this in his essays and through them we are invited to look for God in the events of our lives. He is proclaiming the Gospel in a very beautiful way.

I think this is a fabulous book of essays and short stories that showcase the Catholic way of looking at the church and life.Extremely timely. Brings back memories of growing up and going to a parochial school and to a Jesuit high school.BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!!! Very well done.

Life in all its glory

I am a great fan of Brian Doyle's writing, and this did not disappoint. Brian died far too young.

A beautiful book. I was impressed and moved... and I don't move easily.
