Great device. Works perfectly but it is just not the right time..
it is a great device, well designed and easy to use but.. yes theres a huge but about it. This only works with sha256, which means you can only mine bitcoin, which means it is meaningless.it takes more than 1000 days for me to mine only 1 btc which is equivalent to roughly 330 usd. So i believe it will never be able to roi.it is not the device's problem but. I mean the device is great. It is just the nature of the btc mining.go for scrypt devices. Better go for cloud mining contracts instead of buying hardware.

Neat when they work...
I bought 3 of these in total. They worked alright for about 6-7 months now I can't get them to work. They power on but when I connect them to a USB hub they seem to cause continual resetting of the USB bus. Same result when I plug them in directly to the laptop or through a powered USB hub. Also, the power supplies they came with ran really hot and one burnt itself out. So I replaced with a much larger wattage supply at more expense. Really disappointed in these.

Really hard to set up, but pretty good once it gets going.
I tried their U2 first to see if I liked it. It was Plug and Play. It only took a few seconds to set up and has run non-stop for a couple of weeks. The U3 is much more difficult to get going. This is what finally worked for me on Windows.First, install the driver. I used Zadig and it found the right one.I found this file:cgminer-run-windows-20141110.zip detect 4 chips during device detect procudure for U3at:bitmaintech dot com/support.htm?pid=007201404130633105772QFG6R2u0635so I decided to use it to test my U3. It started hashing right away. So I edited the autorun.bat for my worker and it's going at about 50 Gh/s now. This is the cgminer from Bitmain's website, which is 4.6.1.The U2 worked really easily with BitMinter's Java GUI, but the U3 isn't supported, at least not yet/The power supply did smell weird at first and got pretty warm, I wouldn't say hot. The smell is gone now and it seems ok. The warmer days of summer could be a problem though. In less than a day, the worker on the U3 surpassed the two weeks of work that the U2 did.

Dead at 60 days
Have to create a custom cooling solution if you want the provided power supply to last more than a week, it gets egg cooking hot! My unit failed after in less than 60 days, can't get Peensale to return emails so I can deal with Bitmaintech's return policy. I notice they have no more items for sale so they must have just closed up shop... My prior review was pulled by amazon saying they take responsibility, yet all I have is a $70 paper weight!

So far this is a nicely built device
Edit: Returned as this is no where near an easy program to setup. This requires more power than the advertised watt per Gh. Got Full refund minus shipping. So far this is a nicely built device, running about 25-30 db in volume.I have been trying to use it with a bfgminer to test the hash rate. For the first 2 minutes it was having errors, but it is working perfectly for now. It only does 4.6Gh/s, but this is only because there is not a supported build for bfgminer yet. The sellers include a power brick(without the power connector as stated), a USB cord to connect, and the antminer u3.Testing with one of these devices, I have found my pi is seeing these as 1a and 1b running at approx. 2Gh/s per chipTesting with two devices results in one having massive errors and the other mining.I have not tested this yet with cgminer, nor have I tested the voltages being pumped from the usb hub or from the power source.

Purchased, rec'd in 2 days.. NO MANUALAfter 3 hours of googling, It's up and running about 40-48gh/s with the current power supplyYou really will need a Powered USB hub with AC adapter,After a while it ZOMBIE's out and you have to reset it. (with the current power supply)

I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere as this product is not ...
I bought this as my first miner, and returned it to amazon within two week due to it overheating and going ZOMBIE constantly..(This is after LOWERING the voltages, frequencies, etc and only hashing at 45Gh/s). Not going to make alot of bitcoins with this little rig either. I got a full refund from amazon (which is a A+ seller), and I put the refund towards a Antminer S3. And the S3 is a beast hashing out 450Gh/s and has been running nonstop for several weeks without any problems! I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere as this product is not going to pay for itself. IMHO

Best Miner I've Purchased Yet
I get 45 Gh/s average for each U3. I expected somewhere around there as you never receive the advertised amount from any company. The miner itself stays cool, but the heat sink does get very warm (But there is not an excessive amount of heat).I had trouble running it with a Windows 7 computer, but it worked smooth on Windows 8. I used Zadig to download the drivers and I use CGMiner 4.8.0 (I found that older versions couldn't identify the U3's and when they did it always received driver errors but the drivers were correct).Good, solid, price. I paid 69 dollars and received a U3 and the power adapter (Note: You may have to buy part of the cord if you're not in the US as it's a US standard plug). Not for getting rich but fun to watch it eating away at the proofs of work ;D
