TXINLEI8858 110V Hot Air Solder Blower SMT Rework Station Optional Portable Heat Gun 480W

I received the Hot-Air-Gun for re-flow soldering promptly and on time by Prime.The item worked straight out of the box and was neatly and safely packaged.I looked at some YouTube videos on using this type of soldering equipment and after an hour or so was ready for an experiment. I had an old PC board with a similar IC chip and practiced on that before repairing my auto radio. It takes practice to use successfully. After about 1/2 hour or so I was ready to try this on my car radio. I made small mistakes but were correctable and sucess was at hand.I now can listen to my favorite radio stations while driving and saved myself a few hundred dollars.The price was rock- bottom and I was pleased with the quality for what it is.

For the price, this s great product if your gonna use it occasionally and not on a too hot setting. It worked great while it worked. Other good hot air stations are better built but are enormously expensive. Those are solely for daily use or professionals.I had mine for over a year, I used it often, and it gave me a good service life. But after a year, it gave out. After I performed an autopsy on it, I found out the the exhaust thermometer, a thermocouple that sees the outgoing air temperature, melted and snapped off. And the unit reported an error. Before it gave out I used it on a PC board that had a large heat sink glued behind it. I put it on the hottest setting and for a long time, and I overheated it.I'm gonna but another one, because it's cheap, disposable, very portable, and it works.The holder stand has a magnet that when the unit is placed on it, it activates a magnetic reed switch, and the unit cools down before shutting off.Some reviewers here mention that there is no on/off switch and the only way to turn it off is to unplug the unit. This is wrong. To turn it off (after letting the fan cool it down), press the setup button for 2 seconds and it will turn off.

Only used it long enough to test it so far.It looks and feels cheap. But it seems to be the same wand as many others are.It does however function like a quality product. Its a bit weird to use at first, as it just doesn't turn on and off for safety reasons. So I had to actually read the instructions for it. And it makes sense how it functions. Again for safety reasons. Its not hard to operate at all.It also allows you to control the force of air coming from it. Something I didn't read in the description.

The cable for this product is very stiff making it difficult to use with one hand while holding tweezers in the other. Returning the handle.to the.stand the cable.can get.in the way also.

I've used this more than a few times now and I really like it. I set the temperature slightly higher than my target melting point and the chips I'm replacing come right off, I bought this to replace my BIOS chip initially and I just can't believe I never bought one of these before.The controls are intuitive and the nozzles are a good size.
