Good initial impression and install tips
Tuhoomall Jeep Gas Cap Cover Satin Black Powder Coated Steel for Jeep Wrangler 07-1730 Jan 18:Initial impressions: decent quality, finished well and with clear instructions. Plastic inner piece looks like different plastic type than the OE.You will reuse the rubber grommet from around your tank neck. (I removed all screws and painted them black but you do not need to remove the top and bottom for install. If you do, secure the loose nuts from in between the metal cover and plastic liner when you pull it off or they will likely fall)Install: simple and straight forward. Here are some tips.1. When removing the metal cover from the inner plastic liner for install, no need to remove the thumbscrews at the top and bottom, they are for looks only and are secured by loose nuts on the back where the other screws have nutplates in the inner liner.2. On the back of the inner liner, at the top (12 o’clock) and left (9 o’clock), there are plastic guide pins. I only had a guide hole on my tub/body at the 9 so I shaved the top one off for a flush fit.3. There are two slots on the bottom at the 5 and 7 o’clock with a reinforcing spine behind them. Slip these over your body wall first, ensure the 9 o’clock guide pin aligns with the hole on the body, then press flush and the two top plastic clips will secure in place.4. Install your gas cap before putting the cover on so you don’t accidentally drop a screw into the open tank neck.5. I like to use blue loctite to secure the screws since they have nothing to protect against vibrating loose. We’ll see how well it holds up against the weather, but for now this is a great bang for the buck!!

Good fit but instructions are off
The instructions are not very clear but the idea is not complicated. Most should be able to install this without instructinos but you would still like to know what to expect. First of all don't unscrew ALL the screws on the new part. The screws at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions are decrotive only. Second there is no way to release ALL the tabs on the original part to remove it. You can access one or two tabs from the back (through the rear tail light cover) but you'll have to just break off the others when you take the original part out since there is no way to get to the other tabs. Don't worry about getting a little rough taking the original part out. Once the tabs are free wiggle and twist it to slide the tight gasket off the fill tube. Once its out then push the peg of the cap tether out of the hole from the backside with a screw drive. At this point the new part should snap in but there is one little spike behind the 12 o'clock screw that will have to be removed. I used my pocket knife to cut it off. The plastic housing should then snap in. Press firmly at the top and bottom until it snaps in. Then install the outside cover with the FOUR screws and snap the cap tether back into the hole. It shouldn't take more than 10 mins but figuring out the process with bad instructions can set you back a few minutes.

Solid on my 2016 JKU Sahara
The outer ring is made of metal and the inner of a firm plastic....think kydex or polymer. Easy to install. Hardest part was taking off the o- ring and OEM plastic gas piece. Fit is good with no movement. Solid closure with a heavy spring assist. The cap does not fit snug. There is about 1/8” gap around the ring and vehicle. But again it does not move or rotate as some other reviews have indicated. Stays solid. Overall very please with the product and adds a nice clean finish to my Jeep!

So....so!
Doesn’t fit well. Seems to be a little loose, but looks ok. I am selling the jeep, so it will work. If it was my personal jeep I would have sent it back

Surprisingly good
Was worried it wouldn’t fit my 2018 Willys JKU due to all the negative reviews, but it fit great and is actually pretty high quality. Hardest part was getting the rubber gasket off the original. Doesn’t rotate like others say, at least for me. Feels pretty sturdy. Great product, especially for the price

Too good to be true
As others have noted, the cover rotates pretty freely in either direction once installed. Also there is a hole inside that appears to be meant for the gas cap retainer (the little plastic cable that tethers the cap to the Jeep). However, the hole is oddly shaped and the cable wouldn't actually fit into it so what's the point. I paid for a cheap Chinese knockoff and I got a cheap Chinese knockoff. I will say that the weight and finish are better than I expected. I'll probably try to make this work using some double sided tape to stick it in place.

Seems well made and fits tighter than the real MOPAR ...
Seems well made and fits tighter than the real MOPAR one it replaced where the powder coat was bubbling. Of course the small tab on the back broke off but I just put a small black screw through the plastic and into the hole where the tab was supposed to go through and it worked perfectly.

The gas cap cover looks great! Unfortunately
The gas cap cover looks great! Unfortunately, that is the only positive I have to say. It was a 'prime' item and was delivered 7 days after ordering. Once installed, I tried jiggling it just a little bit to make sure it was in there firmly, and the whole thing just wiggled out. I tried again and verified it was attached correctly and the same thing happened. It was just not a good fit AT ALL. (2011 JKU). I wish it fit cause it looked great.
