Absolutely wonderful option for a desktop microphone stand for computer recordings
This microphone stand has been exactly what I've been looking for, but I didn't know it until I found it. What I mean by that is that this is advertised as a floor stand for placing a microphone next to a drum or something similar. I was looking for a stand that would sit on my desk for use in recording video lectures. The most common recommendation for setting up that type of recording is to use a boom arm. I have been using one of those but I am never satisfied with it because when it is fully extended, it is just long enough to reach my mouth, but when it is not in use, it is very unattractive. The crazy thing is that it is almost impossible to find a boom arm that is attractive. Even the name brand models that are $100+ are just as unattractive as the one I'm using. I finally found a really attractive boom arm, but it was $400+. I really do appreciate how good it looks, but there is no way I'm ready to spend that kind of money on just the boom arm in my setup. So I was looking around after being scared off by the price of that when I stumbled onto this product. It appeared to meet my needs and after receiving it and setting it up, I was correct. This stand sits to my left and easily brings the microphone directly where it needs to be, while not obstructing my line of site to my computer monitors. When it is not in use, it is very easy to move out of the way, or if I decide to leave it on my desk it is much better looking than the boom arm it is replacing. After looking at this stand, it makes it even more perplexing as to why so many stands and boom arms are so unattractive. This thing looks and works great! And it is sold for a very reasonable price! Pros: - The weighted base is plenty heavy to hold it steady even when you have it extended all the way. - The knobs are easy to turn, making it easy to adjust - The pieces all feel very solid - It has integrated cable management

Perfect height for sitting acoustic guitarists
I mainly mic sitting classical guitarists and found the Gator Frameworks GFW-MIC-0821 ideal for this purpose: takes up little space and allows positioning the boom from beneath and out of the way of hands and music scores. Classical guitarists sit while playing so most boom stands are too tall and add to the visual clutter. This wee Gator is heavy enough to be stable and resist kicking over but easy to transport. Plus it has a small footprint, ideal for cramped spaces. Tripod legs are great for standing performers but get in the way of footstools and music stands used by classical guitarists. The main post allows only a few inches of height adjustment but by moving the boom you can get enough height to mic the bridge or fingerboard. This Gator model is well made and designed although I have some concerns about the longevity of the plastic handles on the tightening bolts. If you use a small to medium mic, you should not experience any problems with boom drift from mic weight. I mainly use a Neumann KM184, a small condenser mic, and a Neumann TLM 102, a small large Large-diaphragm mic, and the stand proved to be ideal, allowing the boom to be used at full extension. I don’t own a large mic but I’m pretty sure the counterweight on the boom is too light, so not a good stand for heavy side address or stereo mics unless used with the boom locked straight up or barely extended. Great design and build for the bucks: small footprint, stable for small and medium sized mics and perfect for sneaking a mic under the music stand of a sitting musician.

Solidly built, yet fiddly
They’ve used a lot good quality materials in this desk boom stand. I put a Stellar X2 Vintage large diaphragm mic and a pop filter on it and with its heavy 7 lb. base, it comfortably held the mic. The base has chunky rubber feet and it did an adequate job of isolating surface noise. As long as you don’t bang on your desk or table, you should get good results. The thing I don’t like is that the ability to make many adjustments to the boom’s pivot point, height, shock mount angle, etc. can also introduce instability and just plain irritation when any of these adjustments loosen up, as they inevitably seem to do. But for the money, it’s generally a pretty good stand.

This Drum Guy is lovin this!
I got this to replace another bass mic stand that started not working right a couple years ago. Not sure why I kept putting up with it. Anyway, so far, I am very satisfied with this one. It's got a much heavier base (which helps keep it in place if my guitarist or keyboardist happen to bump it when we're on a small stage), and the simple tightening mechanism design is brilliant. And to make it even better, this one was slightly discounted because it was an open box/returned item. Winner, winner!

Great Product!
We use this in a church setting with our drums and guitar amplifiers. Occasionally moved around and dropped once ina while for sure, and still works. Such a sturdy and reliable microphone stand with an excellent and perfectly weighted base!

Simple, straight forward and used on one of the #1 podcasts and TikTok channels need I say more!
Simple, straight forward and used on one of the #1 podcasts and TikTok channels (Diary of a CEO) need I say more! I ordered another top rated and ordered extended boom arm mic holder. The springs in the arm would vibrate through the mic and headphones if anything on my desk were moved while the mic was live. This was not a cheap boom arm. If you are in need of a desktop boom arm and also looking for something portable for a podcast, etc. give this serious thought

Good, not great
It is a fair price for what it is, but I think it gets too much credit for sturdiness. The materials feel good quality and the weight is decent but I bought this to use with a Blue Yeti microphone on a shock mount and I wanted to be able to swivel it close to my face and then move it away when I’m not using it. The stand is sturdy to do its job if you plan on always keeping the weight and arm aligned but I found it has a very small window of swivel before it becomes unbalanced and wants to tip over so I guess keep that in mind. I kept it to use as a nice stand to record guitar amps with but ended up buying a large boom arm with table clamp to fit my needs at a desk/computer.
