Calculus: Early Transcendental Functions (Available Titles CourseMate) 5th Edition

I've read this book during my Program Engineering degree and this book helped me a lot!!!This book also helped me a lot for developing my games for Android and IOS!!!!!

I've just started using this textbook in my Calc I course and, thus, we haven't gone too far into it yet. However, I am deeply impressed by the book's accompanying web site, [...]. Every odd question from the book is answered on the website, oftentimes accompanied by a detailed solution. The site also touts having a live calc tutor available for chat mode, though I've yet to partake of this particular service, primarily because their hours are somewhat limited.If you want a great 10 thousand foot view of calculus, I would augment Larson's Calculus with a long weekend viewing "Change and Motion: Calculus Made Clear", a Teaching Company DVD course (ISBN 978-1598032314). I'm certain any calc student who aspires to ace his/her course will find these two products a dynamic learning duo!

I am the type of person that needs to see complex topics explained in writing in order to understand them. I purchased this book for my Calc 1 class because the assigned book for the class offered very little in the way of written explanations. I was quite pleased to find that the book was offered in Kindle format because it allowed me to start reading it immediately. After just one weekend, my understanding improved tremendously. However, I noticed things like the small text boxes that explained theorems, proofs, or really anything that wasn't exclusively text was too small to read. I adjusted the settings on my Kindle and my PC but to no avail. The formatting issues really became a problem when I got to the exercises at the end of each section. The font was so small that I could not see the problems to solve them. Calculus is definitely a subject that requires a lot of practice. I could not check my comprehension without being able to solve the problems at the end of each section.I called Amazon's Kindle support. They were able to fix the exercises at the end of the sections fairly quickly, however, it was still nearly impossible to read the theorems. After waiting for over a week, I asked for a refund so that I could purchase the hardcover version of the book.I cannot stress enough how helpful the content of the book is. I improved by two whole letter grades after I started using this book. I would highly recommend the book itself but I would warn against getting the Kindle version, at least until they work all the kinks out.

My teacher uses the 6th edition. They are nearly the same exact book. I just have to make sure the assigned problems match up; some are just numbered differently. Much more affordable.

I've had this book for some time now and I've found it easy to follow. It provides ample problems within each chapter to help students learn the concepts.

Overall, my book arrived in good condition when I bought it, but I ordered the regular edition but instead received the paperback international edition. This makes the book ok for studying or looking on in class, but for the homework it is terrible because I have to meet up with someone in my class every day to make sure the problem set in my text are in the same order as in the normal one (this international edition is the same exact book except with a few of the problems switched around to different numbers).

Saved a lot of money renting this book and I can just return it when im done with the course. Don't have the headache of trying to sell it

Came with code for the book's website as advertised. Do yourself a favor and make a Chegg account as well. They work out the solutions for all the problems, not just the odd ones.
