Why didn’t I get this years ago!!!
The media could not be loaded. So first of all I have the metal outlet box that is connected to a light switch on the upper left side of my fireplace. The switch simply powers the box on and off. This kit came all pre-wired and just needed to be put in position and plugged in. I had no issues getting it into position. I even had the rubber feet already in place. Once in position all that was left was to position temp sensor, position control knob and plug it in. It took about 15 minutes to install. Most of that was doing cable management. I have the control knob set to somewhere around 80%. That moves enough air without being too loud. The fan is somewhat loud when full power but it is a motor so that is expected. I did a video so you can hear the motor go from off to full on. My mantel use to get really hot and now it barely even gets warm since the air is being redirected. This really does get some heat moving in the house. Why didn’t I do this years ago!! Overall great blower and a great price!!

Not a direct replacement but close enough to work
We replaced a 35+ year old blower in our ventilator where the bearings were starting to make bad sounds and I could not get into them to lubricate them. I thought it would be impossible to replace, but found this blower with all the required wiring. The wiring on this unit was slightly different than the old unit so I could not reuse the old switch, but this unit was still plug and play. The biggest issue I had was the mounting base for this unit was arranged differently than the old one which was flush to the back of the cowling. This one the blower exhausts extended out past the cowling. I used the provided sticky tape to mount the blower rather than the screws. I would have preferred the screws, but if I don't have to replace this one for another 35 years, I will deal with the sticky tape then. I recommend this product.

Works great!
I installed this on a direct-vent gas fireplace. It HEATS the downstairs. Almost too well. It will prevent the thermostat from kicking on our central heat, making it colder upstairs. Next winter, I'll try keeping it at a lower setting to help balance things out. This thing finally puts my useless fireplace insert to work. The fan itself is pretty quiet. You can hear a slight hum, but ... it's a motor, so it's going to make noise. The hardest part about installation was trying to squeeze it under/through the bottom of the fireplace where all the existing plumbing/wiring is. Just measure your setup to make sure this will fit. Overall, I'm very happy with this fan.

customer reviews
It helped that the stove listed this as the proper fit. The biggest help was reading the reviews starting with the lowest to highest order. This came out as the best value for cost and customer rating.

Manufacturing defect
Seems like a solid fan and all wired up. However, one fan blade was off center and touching the housing encasement; it rattles noisily when I test it. The thermo sensor was detached due to poor riveting. I sent it back for a replacement.Got the replacement in 3 days. No defects works well and quietly

Never Worked
I finally got around to installing this fireplace fan (after the return period, of course) and while the installation was pretty straightforward and easy, the fan ultimately doesn’t turn on. I don’t know if it’s an issue with the temperature sensor or the motor itself but theirs is power to the unit with no fan. What a waste! Find another provider!

Excellent - my room is MUCH WARMER
I have this mounted sideways (vertical) to my Quadrafire wood stove insert inside my fireplace. The air is blown from the left hand side, around the back of the firebox, and exits out the right-hand side grill. It is works very, very well. Before buying this fan, my living room would inch up to maybe 72 with a good hot fire on a cold day, but with this fan it's currently 78 - so there is so much more warmth in the whole room and overall home. I'd looked at other fans before buying this that were in the $200 range and declined, as I'm using wood to heat to save me money... but this fan is an excellent value, and works well. Glad I bought it!
