Dario Glucose Control Solution for Test Strips Levels 1 & 2 (2.5ml)

Checked my Dario glucose monitor with this solution. Worked as it was supposed to.

Now that I'm monitoring my health, the Dario solution is needed to test the performance of my meter.

I bought a glucose meter to test myself since I'm getting to the age where some of my friends get Type 2 diabetes. Well I tested fine so I put everything away for a couple of months. Started feeling different so tested again and my fasting glucose count was 200. Yes, I was freaking. So I changed my diet and still tested at 200. Thankfully I had purchased this stuff and after running the test found that my test strips had gone bad. Whew. Cut my fasting score in half.

The solution comes with two bottles. Level 1 bottle is expected to test in range of 90-140 and level 2 bottle is expected to test in the range of 170-240. Those are really broad ranges of 50 and 70 respectively, meaning the error in the reading could be as much as 70 and still the device is considered by the manufacturer to be working as expected. I bought a new device and got the readings of 148 and 248 respectively, both outside the ranges of the control solution. So even the range of 70 is not adequate and the device may have even more error range. There is a lot of difference between getting a reading of 170 vs getting a reading of 240 - don't think this much variation is acceptable

Does what it was supposed to - I used it to test an older monitor and a brand new one and they both turned out within a number or two so I was pleased to know I could check my older one and make sure it was still working well.

I need to verify the accuracy of my strips. Worked like a charm.

The glucose testing seems to work fine. The lancet does not. Sometimes I have to prick my finger three or four times to get enough blood for a test. This means I'm using four test strips. Yes, I have it set on the maximum of 4 but still just barely punctures my skin and it's difficult to get enough blood. Had to purchase an additional lancet.
