Meade 505 Telescope PC Cable CP2102 USB RS232 to 4P4C RJ10 Adapter Control Cable Compatible ETX-90 ETX-125 LXD75 LX80 LX90 497 AutoStar (Length:6 feet)

This is a really nicely made newer version of the Meade #505 Interface connection to control my Meade Telescope using a Win10 Laptop. The original #505 cable arrangement involved an RJ11 - RJ10 cable plugged into the Meade Handbox which in turn was plugged into an adaptor to connect the RJ11 to a DB9 RS-232 cable (with inbuilt RS-232 electronics) which is terminated with a USB plug. This new design #505 RS-232 is a one piece (PnP in Win10) cable which connects directly between the Telescope RJ10 Handbox and the Laptops USB socket. The Good news is it works great. A very worthwhile Upgrade and not that expensive. 5 Star Rating.

The connector to the handset is only held in by the very thin internal wites which are very fragile when connection - disconnecting to the handset. I have had 2 of these both broke at the plug entrance so be very very careful when disconnecting do not use the cable only THE PLUG.

Connector worked until just past the 30 day Amazon return window then nothing, all set for an evening of astronomy and ended up with a evening of total frustration instead. The cable had not seen a great deal of use as its nearly the middle of summer and the nights are short, all in all a disappointing product. Will ibuy a replacement from the same supplier................ not it if can help it !

This just did not work at all on my Windows 10 pc and so I used a CHIPI-X converter to connect the Autostar handset to the pc's usb socket. See CHIPI-X review.

I bought this to update my 8" LX90 software and databases and it did what I needed it for.

Il cavo viene riconosciuto subito da Windows e permette senza problemi la connessione all'Autostar #495 e il comando da PC del mio ETX. Tutto come atteso

I can now finally control my Meade LX90 with my macbook. This streamlines the whole process when stargazing.

Volevo utilizzare questo cavo per collegare il mio Etc 125 al PC per utilizzare il software dedicato.Attenzione a dove collegate il cavo lato telescopio, va collegato alla tastiera di controllo e non alle prese (che aimé sono identiche) presenti sulla scheda del telescopio, per intenderci dove si accende il telescopio.Effettuato il collegamento sono riuscito a pilotare correttamente il telescopio sulla mappa stellare del software.
