I bought this as I like cocktails but don't like to disturb my neighbours by smashing normal ice cubes into crushed ice all the time. It arrived inside a plastic film package, and without any noticeable chemical smell which some silicone products seem to have. The tray is a single tray with lots of spherical hollows in it - there is no lid, the product image is just of two separate trays I think. It's the flexible sort of silicone that many kitchen moulds are made of. It's really easy to use, you just fill all the holes from the tap and pop it in the freezer. The slighly flexible silicone also makes it easy to get into awkward freezer spaces (although you should lay it flat for the actual freezing part). I only have a small freezer compartment but as the balls are small, they froze well in about 4 hours. Unlike other ice trays it's really easy to remove the balls although you have to do it one by one, but it's quite a satisfying process. Because of the flexible silicone you just press them balls out from the other side. It's also really handy if you only want a few pieces of ice, as when you tip it upside down the other balls don't tip out. Quantity wise, I think one tray makes enough ice to top up a couple of glasses of say orange juice, whereas you need to use the whole tray's worth to get a whisky glass full of ice balls. I wish I had bought two! Lots of fun and a cute novelty, I am going to try using it to freeze fruit puree or flavoured water to snack on when it's hot outside.

Perfect for what I wanted.. balls are the size of marbles and look great in a glass especially with a dozen or so in there. They’re almost round but perfectly round if you’re careful when you fill them so that you get a rounded top to the water. Great fun popping them out too and as they’re small they freeze within a couple of hours. Great purchase. Have binned all of my other ice trays

Great but as quite small they melt quite quickly

The diameter of the balls is 19mm (3/4inch), NOT 12mm. This is too big for the purpuse I bought this for so now I have to return it.

The quality is not good and there is a smell of rubber.

Feels very premium and good quality

I actually used this to make my own "dip'n'dots". Melt ice cream and place into mold, refreeze, dip in melted chocolate and refreeze again or eat as is. The size made biting into it very satisfying.
