JessEm Tool Company 4010 Master Fence II

I purchased this even after reading all of the negative feedback with bent fences, torqued rails etc. etc. I installed this on a custom built table and it installed perfectly, but not without some head scratching I will say. The way around the most hidden issues with the mounting rails was simple and I have shared it in this short video. Do not install the rails separately, rather attach them to the actual fence, then place it in position and drill and screw in place. The issue is the upper fence mounts sit on top of the lower mounts and there is an offset which does not present itself in the literature. Simply mounting the brackets to the fence rails then placing it on the table and screwing it in made everything come together rather simply. The fence is made of really high quality materials, I will say the plastic spacers for teh hold down nuts are a bit cheesy but they are not getting a ton of pressure put on them so I will monitor it. The hardware and fittings are quality aluminum extrusion and the bolts and t-nuts are thick and heavy guage. I would but this again, and may when I can afford the adjustable jointing feature with their pro version. Not going to lie, was disappointed in the instructions and the imagery, could have been so much more for the price, or even a good instructional video as I have done would help. they have videos up but it with the use of their tables which are pre drilled.

Compared to its counterparts in woodworking accessories, it is the best and most accurate in its details, durability, and manufacturing quality is extremely high, which I have never seen in any other product. I built my router table top Then I assembled it, it works great, make sure to read the manual carefully.

Update: This morning I did hear from customer service and arrangements were made to send a new nut. I was probably wrong about the email address. A very nice woman, Patty, handled everything efficiently. I will update again after we get some practical experience with usage. *Received this gadget a couple of weeks ago. The assembly instructions were good but left a couple of pertinent details out. Namely, the side fence guides were bolted to the main fence assembly for shipping. At first we thought it had been left out of the package. No mention in the instructions of this fact. We've had the fence assembled now for about a week (on and existing Jessem router tabletop). One of the fence clamping nuts which mates with the clamping knobs securing the fence with the side rails was broached and threaded at about a 15deg angle. One would have to see this to believe it. So far after emailing the issue (with an attached photo) to CS and calling, no response yet. This nut is a standard pitch 8M nut but with a very wide margin intended to slide into the track such that it will not rotate and can be tightened and loosened. So far nothing has turned up commercially that would serve. It appears we are stuck with both a defective part which I cannot locate and getting. I will update as progress is made.*

I have been a hobbyist woodworker for ~3 years and worked with a lot of different tools. I have come to the conclusion that you can either spend your money on more wood to cover for mistakes, or on more quality/accurate tools that allow you to get a consistent result. This is a high end, well-made router table fence. I love the fact that its mounts are on the side of the table (as opposed to the fence types that used slots in the table top itself). The mount rails have easy to read measurements on the sides, which allow for quick and accurate adjustments. I have been very happy with this product.

I researched router fences for some time. After my research, I decided on the JessEm master fence II. I am very happy with the purchase. The fence is well made. I talked to their customer service about installing it on my phenolic table and they were very helpful. They told me the tap size to use with my table top and it was easy to install the screws in the top. I have used the fence and it is a treat. There are measuring scales on both axis. It is very easy to use. It could have been better if the fence was self squaring like that of a table saw but the scales make this not too signifcant a problem. I am very happy with the fence and would recommend it to anyone.

Bought as part of a package with lift and table top to replace an old well worn system I researched thoroughly and Jessem appeared to be the best and it wasn't made in China I am extremely pleased with the build quality and accuracy after several doors and drawers. I'm not concerned about durability it will last! The only issue I have is the fence slide mechanism. Considering the level of quality I didn't expect a nut sliding in a metal track to adjust the front to back location of the fence. It binds all the time so making an adjustment on this well built unit is just as difficult as the cheap rockler unit it replaced. I asked customer service why not just thread a roller bearing, which I'm going to do, no answer! This issue is not a deal breaker as everything else is great

It is a fabulous fence. Came same day as Rockler dust bucket which is amazing. well made,solid as a rock..I will get a lot of good routing out of this. Can't wait for the clear stock guides to come. Minor issue..Jessem..your instructions are horrible. You obviously spend a lot of time on designing your products. Put a little of the same effort into your instructions..it does make a difference

I really like this item. It took some doing to mount it on my table top as the holes drilled for the screws in the table top were undersized so that the screws would really bite into the plastic. It took forever to drive all the screws but once the fence is mounted and set up it is a dream to use. It is pricey but if you use a router table for fine work, it is well worth the money.
