Montana Curiosities: Quirky Characters, Roadside Oddities & Other Offbeat Stuff (Curiosities Series) Paperback – June 1, 2010

This has good info. I love seeking out the silly, the kitzsy, the unusual, & the downright odd. This book has the right stuff.BUT, I bought this in the Kindle version, and I wish I had bought the actual book, instead. This is one of those books where, as you go through it, you've got a thumb at the table of contents, a finger holding the map place, two more fingers marking other pages, etc . . . That just isn't as easy to do with a Kindle. (I love my Kindle, but there are some things that are just easier to do with a paper book.) So this would get 5 stars for information, but the Kindle is detracting.

Love this book. It is very interesting and has items from all over the State. It is a little limited on coverage east of Billings...most people think that Montana ends east of Billings. However, having lived out in that part of the State for a while I was even aware of many more interesting items than the author seemed to cover. However, that is a minor detail and doesn't detract from my star rating. It was enjoyable to read and definently added some items to my family's plans for the next time we are travelling through Montana. If you are going through Montana this is a great book to keep in your glove box as a reference and to help you stretch your legs by stopping by some of these places. If you are from Montana and have travelled around very much you will recognize a lot of these sites.

I bought this book as a gift for a relative who loves to travel and see the extraordinary. While I have not read through it, I have looked through it, and it seemed to cover the bases and provide lots of fun activities and info. It arrived in great shape and was shipped very fast. I think it would be a good buy for anyone who also likes to learn about and see the roads less traveled.

While cheesy and sometimes borderline naughty in a creepy uncle kind of way, this book is fun and informative. I have been enjoying it and no doubt will make some stops on my next trip to MT because I read about them here. Recommended, would make a great gift if someone you know loves crazy road trips. Four stars because of the extra thick helping of cheese.

We bought lots a little books for our Montana trip half of them we didn’t have a chance to read because we were driving down the road thinking we were going to be reading to each other and instead we were either fighting or trying to figure out where the hell we were. Needless to say they’re fun to look at now and say oh we’re with her.

This was a lot of fun as we drove the roads of Montana for two weeks. I lost track of how many hits we actually found without looking for them, but I recognized them when they popped up. I never would have known the behind things without this book.

Just a really fun compilation of different things to see in MT. We plan on living in the state for a couple of years and pull this book out for road trips. There is a lot of open space in Montana, so it is nice to give the kids something to look for. Our favorite, so far, has been the giant penguin in Cut Bank.

usually all states have a quirky character and curiosity. Montana is no exception. this book gives some curiosities that sit and make you think---is this real. yes all the information in this book is real. if you like odd, quirky or just curios about places and things of Montana this is a good book
