RAMBO III 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital

Not as good as Rambo First Blood Part II, but highly entertaining. This time, Rambo travels to Afghanistan to save Trautman from the Russians. Rambo travels to Afghanistan and meets up with rebels awaiting more help when Russian helicopters show up and attack. Rambo blows one of them up and the other escapes. The Afghans retreat to the border but Rambo, another rebel, and the kid stay behind to save Trautman. Rambo shows some crazy survival techniques here such as when he gets impaled by a shard of wood, he breaks part of it off, and then later pushes the rest out of his side. Then he takes the gunpowder from a bullet and pours it into the wound and sets it on fire, cauterizing it. The Rambo and Trautman characters are expanded more here as we see them form almost a father-son bonding relationship here. They get along well and pick off the Russians one by one in the pit. Rambo seemingly finds a life for himself after years of drifting around. Trautman risks his life to assist the Afghans. The one character I can't stand though is the kid. He's completely annoying and an unnecessary character and he's my least favorite character of the four movies. Aside from that, the rest of the Afghans are cool characters. Rambo also has some other cool scenes, such as when he's fighting the Russian soldier, he ties the rope around his neck, pulls the pin on a grenade, and kicks him into a pit, where he gets caught and then blows up. He also is able to pilot a tank and kill the Russian commander. There are also great quotes from the movie such as: "Who are you?" "I'm your worst nightmare.", "Who do you think this man is? God?" "No, God would have mercy. He won't.", and "What do you say, John?" "F*** 'em." Rambo III is a fun and highly entertaining action movie that, despite some flaws, still has entertaining elements to it. It's not as good as Rambo First Blood Part II, but a close second, tied with Rambo (2008). I love First Blood, but the sequels have more fun action to them. Definitely buy Rambo III because it's just awesome.

This is a great action movie from the late 1980's. It holds up quite well and does not appear dated in any way. The HD visuals found in this bluray have done the movie justice, as Rambo's blood and sweat is clearly defined and the environments offer great detail. I am greatly astonished that this film in the original Rambo trilogy was critically and commercially trashed in the box office. The movie itself is full of non-stop explosive action. Unlike the first (which does offer a good story), or the cheesy second in Vietnam that was merely alright. The first two clearly don't hold up as well in HD, as the superior action oriented third. I hate when retards bash a movie for deviating from its original story or because it does not offer enough character development. For those individuals they can find what they want by just reading a book! I personally watch a movie for its sheer entertainment value, and if I seek more in the subject matter then I would just watch a documentary. These individuals who bash a movie for its unrelenting action and explosions, essentially kill any possible future sequels. The movies I know that have suffered this fate was of course Rambo 3 in the 80's, which the public clearly spoke by hardly making a dent in its box office numbers(and you dare call yourselves Rambo fans!) There are also other movies, like "The Chronicles of Riddick," which obviously was not like Pitch Black with its heavier action scenes that was too much for some folks, which essentially killed any possibility for a third movie in the franchise. Also, there is "Terminator Salvation", which was a great modern take on the franchise with its direction clearly veering into a dark future war introduced in the original movies. I just believe people should enjoy movies for what they are, and stop complaining about what there not!!! The same could be said about the recent movie "Battle: Los Angeles", that was bashed for its heavy action emphasis. Those of you that are constantly getting your unbelievable expectations hurt your just ruining it for everyone else by killing any future sequels with your hate! Consequently, destroying what could otherwise be a great action extravaganza on bluray!!!

The film is basically about Rambo going into Afghanistan to rescue his former commanding officer and along the way helps afghan rebels fight Russian invaders The pros in my opinion. I love a good action film now and then. And Rambo has plenty of action. The 1990 Guinness World Records deemed Rambo III the most violent film ever made at the time, with 221 acts of violence, at least 70 explosions, and over 108 characters killed on-screen. If you want action then this film is for you. If you're a Stallone fan then this film is for you. I like that the film is based based on a real life war that was going on. I was really feeling this film and the character Stallone has crated when he was infiltrating the Russian base. Him sneaking around under tanks,jumping through holes and creeping around made me feel like I was in a real life metal gear solid game. The last battle with him driving the tank fighting a helicopter was the icing on the cake for a great ending battle scene. The film has some extras features as well. I haven't been through most of them,but enjoyed the directors commentary very much. The dialogue in the film isn't the greatest,but I don't watch action films expecting Shakespeare. I want see to Rambo kick some butt and that's pretty much all to it. Now the cons. Not much I didn't like about the film. There isn't a deep storyline here. Not much character development. Anybody wanting a more realistic idea of soldiers in battle should look someplace else. The movie spent some time showing Afghans playing games like putting a dead sheep in a circle. I felt that it was a bit of a waste of time and wanted Rambo to get right to it. The main Russian bad guy was pretty much not worth talking about or even remembering. I really wish they could get a memorable enemy for the Rambo films. I do kind of wish the film could have spent a bit more time on the plight of the Afghans and war crimes the Russians were committing against them. As some have mentioned here there are a few corny lines in the script which could have been worked on. All in all I really enjoyed this film and think it's underrated in America. It's a great action film with pretty much a comic book view on war. Many people say this one was the weakest in the series,but I love them all. Easily worth the low price the are asking for it on amazon.

Best picture quality to date. If you're able to view 4K format and you dig the Rambo series, worth it.

Got this for my GF as a Xmas gift she love Stallone, perfect for the price for a 4k movie even better that it came with the slip case.

A timeless movie. I remember hearing that Stallone was working on this project way back when. He had heard how the Afgans were being persecuted by the Russians & wanted to tell the story of how a small group of fighters with heart & were willing go give their lives for God (Allah) & Country were willing to stand up to a world super power. INTERESTING. I do believe the story proves that point too (in a Stallone way), and showed just how quick the people were willing to sacrifice themselves and blame their oppressors for their plight. Furthermore, they were willing to never forgive... never forget... and act out in vengeance against this super power to the second & third generation. Unfortunately, the Russians gave up trying to dominate the "rebels" and pulled out before the movie's release, so the story just became a plot for a new Rambo movie. Now we have been fighting against the Afgan Islamic Fanatics. In the end, I've always wondered if Rambo had inadvertently trained a young UBL?

Compré esta edición del Reino Unido por dos motivos. El primero porque tiene castellano y el segundo porque la caratula muestra el cartel original de cine de 1988. Se ve bastante bien, pero en el 2018 Divisa reeditó Rambo III con la imagen remasterizada en 2K y se ve mucho mejor. La película llegó mucho antes de la fecha prevista de entrega y en perfectas condiciones. Buen vendedor, muy satisfecho con la compra.

What more do you really want to know about John Rambo! What you looking for here is how is the Blu Ray quality. For its age it looks really good. The detail is there, nature, faces, weapons. Rambo 3 has it all. A must buy blu ray and any Rambo fan shouldn't do without. I am sceptical on some 80's and 90's after seeing a few terrible upgrades to blu ray but Rambo 3 is one of the ones that proves it can be done. Fast Delivery and a great seller. 5 stars from me.

If you don’t have a nostalgic attachment to this film, this isn’t going to win you over - just watch the first movie and then skip to the 4th movie. Rambo III is a good action movie, but it had a very troubled production and release path and got its timing hopelessly wrong. It’s interesting to rewatch this now from a cinema studies perspective and certainly there’s a lot to admire in how this film was crafted given its budget and the technological limitations of the time. Helicopter combat sequences with real helicopters are not easy to film, just by the by. Studio Canal have done an amazing job of remastering this from the original film negatives. Trust me, you’ll never watch the old Blu-Ray again. A word to the younger generation - this was filmed on film and includes a number of night scenes shot in low light that are very grainy. That’s just a consequence of using photochemical film. This looks better than I recall it looking when I saw it at the cinema but that print had been through a few dozen screenings before I got to it. If you’re a fan or a cinema studies student, I recommend adding this to your collection.
