Meerschaum Pipes - Mini Hand Finished Lion (colors may vary)

The follow review is similar to the one I wrote for the Indian Chief pipe offered by the same seller. This is because I own one of each, and the following review is equally appropriate for each. This is a great little Meerschaum pipe that holds enough tobacco for a short 15-20 smoke without refilling. The hand-finished artistry is great, it really looks nice. It's got a narrow bowl, so its profile (shown in the picture) actually looks much more interesting and has more depth to it than the head-on view, but this is hardly an issue. It's a beautiful pipe, and it will become even more beautiful over time as it begins to color. Great pipe at a great price. I would recommend the black or brown stem to go with it, they look great.

It's a neat little carved Meerschaum pipe. Works great for short little smokes when I dont have time to finish one of my larger ones etc. The fairly important flaw that I would like to point out is that the stem is threaded instead of push/pull. Since this is a Meerschaum pipe that is going to cause it to have some durability issues fairly shortly as the meerschaum wears away anytime you screw the stem in and out for cleaning (the literature they sent with the pipe even stated it was a push/pull.. I assume that's for their larger pipes on their site). All in all the pipe is a very decent buy for only 10 dollars but I am giving the lower review because of the lack of important information in its description.

Instead of advertise as MINI it should say small.The hole where you put tobacco is not designed right and tobacco can easily blown out.The lion head gets hot too quick.Very bad product.

i like it and on hindsight i wouldnt use it as a daily smoker. its a fragile so sundays or special occasions. its also small too.. when i first saw it the carving looked like an angry beaver. HOWEVER its carved so the artist is really good at the form.

When I ordered this pipe I meant to have it more as a novelty and not actually use it. I got it a few days faster than I expected and iit looked really nice. The only thing I would advise is not to tap it against tables or anything to clear it or you're gonna break it as it can be slightly fragile

Well made pipe. the lions teeth look a little funny but cant expect it to be perfect when its made of stone. They gave me the color mouth piece i asked for you just gotta send them a message saying what you want. Not sure if the mouth piece will stay snug after being takin off a lot only time will tell.

Pipe burns very hot. Hotter than any other Meerschaum pipe I would recommend a block meerschaum instead.
