Tastes great even without heating. Heating is convenient and makes it even better!
Hormel Compleats is so convenient when traveling or at work or for a very easy dinner. Especially the beef and mashed potatoes are delicious even without heating. Hormel Compleats tastes good by itself or on crackers or on bread. The protein is really nice for the amount of calories.

Perfect for college students that don't have cold storage.
You can't beat these for dorm room life. They can store it for a long time and they are tasty. Hormel makes good quality stuff. I think they are a great value for the money, because they can be stored at the dorm for quite awhile, till they need to eat in the room. Our son plows thought them, so ours aren't really stored all that long.

Great meal at a Great price !
Yes, these are cheap. Yes, they are NOT like eating at a good restaurant. But for a decent-tasting meal at a low price, and ready out of the microwave in 1 minute, you can't beat these. I've tried virtually all of the variations, and my favorite is this one, Salisbury Steak.

Just OK
I purchased the pot roast and chicken rice for my 86 year old mother who is trying to remain independent and make her own meals. My expectations were not that high and I wasn’t disappointed there. While the pot roast itself tasted good, there was way too much gravy for the little bit of beef and little bit of mashed potatoes that you get and the mashed potatoes were like concrete. The chicken rice doesn’t have nearly as many carrots in it as pictured on the packaging and both were way too salty. I did add some garlic powder and Cayenne pepper to make it a little more palatable and that improves the taste but there was no way I was going to give them to her with the high salt content. As far as the amount of food you get, it was perfect for her. She eats very tiny meals and often doesn’t finish them, putting the leftovers in the refrigerator and forgetting them in there where they become a green fuzzy lab experiment. She would actually eat all of this Because the amount is just right. For a person with a normal appetite, they might wind up eating one and a half to two of these to be satiated.I don’t understand how they can call these Compleats when they’re not a complete meal. There’s barely any vegetables in the chicken rice and none at all in the pot roast unless you count potatoes as a veg.No shade if you love these, but we need something better.Back to the drawing board.

my second time around
I got a bunch of these a while back. Several different kinds. It was one thing I could get my roommate to finish. He has Alzheimer's and is like a kid in his food choices, and how much he will eat of what we call real food.I stopped getting them when he stopped wanting to finish one small tray.I was searching for something else when this came up. Time to re-introduce them to our diet.I like them too.So, we will see if I can get him interested in them again. They are nice for a quick small meal. Just peel back one end of the cover and microwave 1 or 2 minutes, then remove the rest of the cover. It says they contain real meat. I don't see how, they need no refrigeration, but it tastes like real meat and vegies.
