Vibramate String Spoiler For Bigsby Vibratos, Stainless Steel

If you're playing a Gretsch with a Bigsby tremolo you definitely want this. Have you ever broken the string on a Bigsby tremolo during a live performance without it it takes a while to change the string with this you can change the string in between songs in 2 minutes and tune it back and it plays perfect this is the greatest thing they ever came out with the quality the installation the fit the value for the money the appearance tuning it's all perfect.

This is a great addition for any Bigsby vibrato-equipped guitar. If you want to change strings on *any* trem-equipped guitar, it’s much faster to change one string at-a-time so you’re not trying to rebalance the whole bridge as you tune up. But if you want to clean the fingerboard, they all need to come off. Bigsby are particularly difficult because the ball end of the string must be placed on a pin on the back side of the trem. It’s no problem to change one string, but keeping all the ball ends on at the same time is frustrating.This is where the Stringmate excels! This little metal bracket wraps around the trem roller and hooks onto the pins. You hook the ball ends into slots that are now in the top of the bridge. Easy and quick to string up, and completely removeable should you want to revert. No permanent changes, if you want to revert.The Stringmate is beautifully made and finished. It does cover up some of the Bigsby logo on my tailpiece (Reverend Greg Koch Gristle 90, which is a great guitar). I’m surprised they didn’t make this out of aluminum, but the steel works well. If you used D’Addarios, you’ll see the colored ball ends which I don’t like, but that’s not a dealbreaker.

Great product. Anyone with a Bigsby installed on their guitar should have on of these gadgets. Installation on the Bigsby unit is a breeze and really makes changing guitar strings as easy as can be. I own three guitars with Bigsbys installed on them and I have put the Vibramate String Spoiler on each of them and have absolutely no regrets.

Makes stringing your guitar so much easier

Anybody with a Bigsby equipped guitar knows what a pain it can be to restring your guitar. The Vibramate String Spoiler is simply a brilliant solution. I have a Guild Jet 90 and after the simple installation of this, I litereally changed my strings in just a few minutes. No frustrating "hold the ball end on the pin" nonsense. Whoever invented this should win a design award ... in all seriousness. Tone of my guitar was not changed at all, and the Bigsby actually stays in tune much, much better. Just get one ... You wont be sorry.

The spoiler eliminates the need to coil the string around the anchor rod thus eliminating inconsistent string tension that throws out the tuning when using the tremolo. Having the strings anchored straight back, makes the tension more consistent and improve tuning stability. Some say that the Spoiler makes the tremolo action feel smoother. I can't say that this is the case for me. The tremolo action didn't feel any different. The spring type would be the factor that affect the smooth operation of the tremolo more than anything. The best part about the spoiler is how easy it is to change the string. I kept breaking the first E string (.011 gauge) before the Spoiler probably due to the fact that it's wrapped around the anchor post. Since the spoiler was installed, I was able to change the strings quicker and there's less string breakage.Why is this not a standard feature in Bigsby style tremolo??

This little device is expensive. Sure. But the time it saves makes up for it. I no longer dread changing string on my Bigsby guitar.
