We offer our carving bars in 2 nose tips, the dime tip and the quarter tip. The dime tip bars are the only nose contour that we offer in a 10" length. The nose contour determines what chain pitch can be used on the bar. Our dime tip carving bars are specifically for 1/4" chain and the quarter tip bars can use either 1/4" pitch or 3/8" low profile. The reason for this is on the wider radius quarter tip the 3/8" low profile chain is supported correctly and the dime tip the 3/8" low profile pitch chain is not supported correctly. We do not recommend the S40 chain be used on one of our 10" dime tip carving bars.
