Bought as a present for a 9 year old and couldn't resist trying it, just to make sure it was ok of course! Couldn't get it to work at first and contacted support who came back almost immediately with helpful response; you have to have the courage to throw it into the air (gently) without the propellers working and then it comes to life. Easy to guide it around with hands although it had a little bit more of a mind of it's own than I expected, but maybe it just takes getting used to and/or it required calibrating - all part of the fun. Overall it seems like a great little gadget and well worth the money, more robust than it looks too. Oh, and another thumbs up for the great support via email. As others have said, a bit more battery life would be most welcome in the next version.

I'll start with the bad point first. The charge doesn't last for long. The good points. My son loves it. He's had loads of fun with it. It works really well and I'd really recommend it.

This was surprisingly good. I bought it on a lightning deal and was very pleased. I'm not sure if I would pay the full £20 since there isn't much to actually "do" beyond marvel at the novelty and self-maneuvering. On its second run I charged it for an hour then flew it continuously. It lasted 6:30 mins before the battery ran out - the light changed from green to red and it gently landed. During that time it flew around changing direction and height, usually avoiding obstacles. It was surprisingly stable. Alternatively, I could steer it by moving my hand towards it, which sent it scurrying away. It crashed four times into walls etc and fell to the floor without being damaged, then needed re-launching. If you're happy to pay for a fun distraction for a family occasion, this would fit the bill, but I imagine other toys would provide more minutes of entertainment for the same money.

This was very cool when we first got it for our kids. But the actual on off button is very flimsy so it broke on the one. But overall a really cool toy for kids.

The media could not be loaded.  I have tried to get two different drones to fly before, I guess remote control is not my thing. My 7 year old grandson can fly them but I have real difficulty. I was therefore more than a little interested when I saw this one, operation is simplicity itself. Turn the drone on sit it in your hand remove you hand and the drone starts to fly. To control it approach from the opposite side to the motion you want and the drone will move away from you. The drone will cut out if it reaches a ceiling or similar surface above and also if you catch it between your fingers and thumb then flip it over.You can play interactively with the drone because if you approach it the drone moves away. It has sensors above and below as well as two on opposite sides so it is possible for the drone to fly into an object or parson if none of the sensors are pointing pointing at the obstacle in question.The drone only takes about 40 mins to fully charge and once charged the red light in the charging lead USB plud tirns off.The drone is supplied in a really nice display box with a charging lead, Instructions and a charging cable.

I bought the Mini Drone for my daughter and she has been playing with it for less than a week, flying the drone at no more than 5 minutes each day. When she played with it on day 7 the drone is unable to fly after tossing it upward as usual. Despite re-charging and recalibrating the drone it continued to fall onto the ground after tossing it upward. The drone was good fun while it works, but I certainly expect it to last more than a combined 30 minutes of flying time.

Excellent. I bought this because my newly 5yr old son was hoping for Santa to bring him a drone. I didn’t want to pay too much and also didn’t want a remote with the long metal Ariel. This drone is very small (about the size of an adults palm) and at first I thought I’d chosen a bit of a dud option as it looked a bit piddley but it blew all of our minds and is quite magical the way it senses your hands and body to help it navigate around. Also, the sensors have prevented many potential crashes and breakages, so much so that I can feel quite relaxed as it zooms towards the Christmas tree then suddenly changes direction. Cheap enough to replace if it ever breaks too which is a bonus. Don’t hesitate, it’s great!
