1 Corinthians (LifeChange)

This book's goal is to teach you the format to study the Bible. They walk you though almost a soft inductive method or REAP. First you study the over all book, look at the author, setting, audience. Then as you work your way through they have you consider the scripture for what it is, Paul writing to the 1 Corinthians. After going through the section in context, then is the application... HOW does this apply to your life and what can you get it out it and put into use now? I also appreciate the word definitions that are provided in each chapter. It helps the group get into the habit of considering the words used and why. I'm hoping that it will help the group stop glossing over things and start identifying questions to dive deeper.

I have been using the LifeChange series of Bible studies for the women's Bible study that I lead, and they are excellent studies. These go beyond the "fill-in-the-blank" kind of studies and cause us to dig into God's Word and really study. We are just finishing our study of 1 Corinthians and have been challenged, stretched, and blessed as we have wrestled with difficult passages. In the end, we have come away with a better understanding of 1 Corinthians and been challenged to apply these truths to our own lives. This is a Biblically-sound, in-depth study and I highly recommend it, and any of the Bible studies in the LifeChange series by NavPress.

First time with a LifeChange study. Previously I had the impression that a Bible study guide would irritatingly drive our group on rails through topics that need room to breath. Turned out not to be the case with this guide.I value the background and questions provided in each chapter - they make me slow down and appreciate the text more. It sets up a good format for discussion if everyone does the questions before meeting together. I didn't feel that the guide was pushing any agenda, it just felt like a helpful resource.I recommend.

Great series of bible studies, have bought 3 different books now, and will buy more.

One of the best Bible Study material out there. The questions are in depth going through the observation and interpretation stages then there are also good application questions as well. Highly recommended.
