**Q: Does it work Vertical?**
A: Of course not!  When is "North" ever going to be straight up or straight down?!?
Every compass ever made or ever to be made needs to be held horizontal to work.
Some are spherical and do the leveling for you automatically but they still have to be horizontal.

**Q: Is it filled with liquid for smooth North pointing? If yes, any bubble inside?**
A: It moves fairly smoothly. It points north. I'm not certain what you mean by a bubble inside, but I can see none. It is an entry-level compass. I bought it for a young grandson (6-8 years).

**Q: Is the compass immersible (water-resistant or waterproof)?**
A: By the looks of it, I would say it's water resistant up to just a couple feet and for not a very long submersion. It's pretty wimpy and I'd try to keep it from being submerged.

If you are looking for a compass that points to magnetic North, look elsewhere. This one had the face of the compass installed in the wrong orientation, and "north" indicated northeast. I returned it. I will look for a real compass at a sporting goods store.

The size of this compass is JUST PERFECT to have in a pants pocket, while walking through the woods or actually ANYWHERE that you're not familiar with. Especially if you're a gentleman who gets talked into going to the mall, and she has somehow forgotten to inform you that it's the NEW mall. So a real good pocket size compass is definitely going to come in handy OR if you're female, and he's taken YOU to a new hardware store or a ten (10) acre gun show.
