Unfortunately it does not, when I purchased this unit it was advertised it played mp3 CD's.

Does this have speed control, or just pitch?

It seems to only have pitch control.

Does this device play cd/rw? if not do you have a player that does?

MP3 playback

This unit most certainly does play MP3. If concern is present then the disc isnt properly formated. I have runs this player for YEARS with no concerns with mp3 burned cd's
