Summary of Cost Modelling
The book is easy to read and comprehend. But the detail in the book is not as detailed as I would have liked. Having said that, if you are new to cost modelling this is the book for you. It is comprehensive in providing an overview of all aspects of cost modelling without confusing the read with the minutia required for advanced cost modelling techniques.Highly recommended for new cost modelling practitioners.

Good content, unreadable diagrams.
The book itself is good, clear writing and good information. Taking off one star for the Kindle edition as graphs and diagrams are unreadable. They are scanned and the text ends up being too tiny to read. The diagrams need to be re-created digitally so a reader can zoom in/out for readability.

Excellent resource for developing cost models
I was given the paperback version of this book. The book is an excellent resource to cost models and their construction. Most of my career has been leading people and projects dealing with CAPEX. This book opened my eyes about how the business people construct models and the level of detail needed to construct them.I highly recommend this book to anyone needing to learn how to construct internal and external cost models for both materials and services. Authors did an excellent job detailing the total cost of ownership models.

Great Book on Costing for Practicing Managers
The Sowers present very difficult cost modeling concepts in a clear and concise manner. This book is the perfect primer for managers who are trying to understand internal and external costing methods. If you've ever tried to understand the complex descriptions and examples in a traditional cost accounting text, you are going to love the Sowers' book. These guys cut out everything extraneous and get right to the point. I finally completely understand Total Cost of Ownership after reading Chapter 7. You don't have to be an accountant or an engineer to understand the material presented in this book. This text is aimed and practicing managers and hits the target exactly.
