Sony PlayStation 4 500GB Console (Renewed)

Delivery was a day earlier than expected and the console, original controller and cords were securely wrapped in bubble wrap and cushioned in the box with brown packing paper. The PS4 was dust and scratch free. I was very nervous about purchasing a renewed gaming console but the item works great, doesn’t make any strange noises or run excessively hot. Someone took very good care of this console and I appreciate it.

Maaaaaan! I definitely love my PS3 and glad Amazon had the availability but I'm really here to brag on the insurance!! Any electronics that you purchase through AMAZON, absolutely spend that extra money for the insurance!! Ok, so I got the system for myself for Xmas in 2021 and me and baby daddy went hard and played it a ton in 2022 til I kicked him out in March 2023. That last like 5 weeks was rough because the system had quit working and we didn't have anything else to connect with, yadda yadda. I had completely forgot that I had insurance til a couple weeks later (lol of course I was lying down to sleep and popped up to tear my house up looking for the hard copy of the policy) When I called to file the claim, from the time they picked up the phone until they sent the survey afterwards, they were amazing! I've been working customer service for 25 years and they as a team are what I teach my trainees. They got my system fixed and were ON IT when a VERY minor situation came up. I bought something from 2 other chains and had to file a claim on both items and it was the WORST experience! Plus Asurion or whatever completely took care of shipping which brightened my day and made one of the other's mad (hopefully) when I wouldn't shut up about them making me pay to get it to them.

Heat guage responds as "system overheating" when it doesn't even clock 70°F with a thermal sensor. $220, product and delayed shipping was a waste of my time and possibly yours. It had NO screws for the back/main face plate to expose the whole top half of the system. I found a grainiual 'Nerds' candy in the internal system near the disk insert, along the wiring of the buttons- such a laborious procedure with my isopropyl alcohol and q-tips. Disgusting to send me that. What made me bock was finding a screw on the internal top left of the tower' in nothing, it was wedged in-between pillers of plastic on the topmost-right vertical side of the ps4 (horizontal topside turned to the right for better visual) When I removed it the whole system sounded like it clicked in place for the first time in years, the metal stuttered. There was rust on the hard drive, rust around the buttons, rust around plug ins for power which is a safety concern. It literally wouldn't work with any games developed for ps4, only ps3 ports which Sony is aggressively outmoding- for an average of 6h play time for a gaming experience I didn't want. If I wanted a ps3 I'd save $40 and potentially have better service and support concerning a competently maintenanced gaming system. I still have 53 ps3 games on disk- but no- I wanted my ps4 games again after four years of coping and surviving my attempted murder where my belonging and home were destroyed. All I wanted was to play MGSV again. And you failed. Miserably.

Summary until i get a power cord: Overall the console is very clean, and packaged nicely with no damage done to the console or controller. Slight signs of wear on the console and controller, but only if you are looking for them and a reason to be upset. Questionable quality control but the best customer service I have ever gotten and I would absolutely buy from this seller again. 8/24/23 orginal review Console and controller seem to be in good condition, no dirt or finger prints, but I got 2 HDMI cables, a super cheap micro USB cable to charge the controller, and no power cable for the console. I contacted the seller immediately to try to get a replacement power cord, and I will update later. Update 8/25/23 Seller responded quickly with a partial refund and a power cord is on the way Update 9/17/23 Found out the power cord was actually sent to PA and not MN, contacted the seller immediately, he responded the next day with another power cord shipment, and 2 bonus games. I will update again once the package arrives. Update 9/23/23 Power cord and games arrived on the 19th, and I have given the console a few days to analyze the performance and such. As expected the power cord that was finally sent to me works perfectly, the games look to be in good condition although they are not really games I would play. No matter, I appreciate the seller for compensation for the issues and will likely try the games sometime soon since I have them, no point in wasting them. Performance wise, the console has a few lag spikes when playing god of war 2018, but I counted 2 in the 4 days I have been playing. As my friends warned me about, the ps4 fan is extremely loud, but I have noise canceling headphones for that. On the topic of headphones, the audio cuts out sometimes when useing the aux port on the controller, it hasn't the few times I was just using my TV speakers. It's not often enough or long enough to impact my game at all, just something to note. Overall, 9/10 experience, probably should have gone with the ps4 pro, but its alright.
