I adore these glasses
very good, I'm certain these are the glasses that they sell on the met opera gift shop at a much heftier price aswell. I saw everything you just have to find the best settings for your own eyes. I was also very shocked how little the bag smelt after reading reviews and fearing the odor but there wasn't any so do not fear. I adore these glasses and I'm glad the quality means that they will last me a long time.

Very useful with a few caveats
They work well. Look really nice. The magnification was not quite as strong as I thought it would be however it does make a big difference when you are sitting in the back row or balcony seats. It went from the actor's faces being a blur to with the glasses, you can see their actual expressions and reactions. This was especially great to have when we had almost last row Hamilton balcony tickets. Really helped us see more details and emotion during the show. It's great that they have a neck chain so you won't drop them in a dark theatre. Drawbacks: A lense fell off mine after a few uses but luckily I found it and it screwed back on easily. You have to adjust the focus very carefully before the show to get it just right - the focus can be touchy. If you're watching a long show with them, your arms can get very tired from holding them up to your face. It takes some time (20-30 minutes?) for your eyes to adjust to see through them properly so that you're looking at one image instead of seeing double. The viewing area it shows is fairly small so if actors are acting or singing further away from each other, you have to keep looking back & forth to see their faces. FINAL OPINION: Despite the little caveats, very happy with them and absolutely glad I bought them.

Adjustable focus.
We have 1 1/2 acres behind our house. The vision of these opera glasses is perfect for the deer and small animals that visit us. My husband has a couple of pair of binoculars, but they zoom in too much so that the animals "look like they're right on top of me". "They're heavy, cumbersome". So I also bought him a pair, which he loves. The opera glasses are light weight and conveniently hung around our necks as we move from room to room in the back of the house to watch the deer, rabbits, hawks, falcon, squirrels. The focus wheel works well on each of ours. He has 20/20 vision. I'm blind without my gasses.

Lovely! Often have to adjust focus
Took these to a play, sitting very high up in the balcony! I was able to see the actors movements and expressions very well! I did have to continue adjusting focus as the play went on, but it made for a very enjoyable show. The neck chain helps keep it place. So if I want to put them down for a moment, I know they won’t slip off my lap!

Glasses kind of suck.
These are only average glasses glasses. Not for me. They didn't focus worth a damn.

Magnification was perfect for Theatre
Sat in the Loge section (front balcony) and the 3x magnification was perfect to see facial details on the actors and not lose the overall stage. I find that too much magnification amplifies shake and also is difficult to find the area of the stage you want to focus on. I bought one for me and one for a friend. I do wish the unit bent just a little more to make the scopes slightly closer together—I found I was closing one eye at a time not to have double vision. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
