BILCO Basement Door Keyed Lock Kit

Very easy to install, and works very well!!

Wanted to be able to lock or unlock the Bilco door without having to go down to the basement. This worked well.Not easy to install, you need specific bit sizes for your drill, including some large sizes. I also had to put some washer spacers between the bottom of the door and the mechanism so it had clearance to slide the lock bar under the edge of the opposite door.But overall, I love the locking/access options it gives me.

It fit but we had to cut a piece off because our doors have a lip on the inside so the sliding lock was hitting. We were able to cut it so it worked out.

Easy to install, works great

Relatively easy to install, it works well. It is well built and well engineered. I must have thought about attempting to design this myself a dozen times and stopped because I realized it would be a pain to make something open keyless from the inside and keyed from the outside.I wish it used a standard size modular lock cylinder so that I could key it alike to my other doors and locks. I'm not sure how actually secure the cylinder included is. I don't like how little key movement is needed, turning the key about 2° is all it takes. I don't think it's insecure but I worry about snapping a key with all the force it takes to move it that 2°

Installation was a little harder than the video's suggest. Overall, the lock works like it is supposed to. We are happy with this purchase.
