Is it very stiff or flexable, I need a spring to be flexable for a "thunderdrum"

I have no idea what your application is, but for sure, this spring is not stiff.

When stretched, does this spring snap back to its original dimensions? How much additional length can it be stretched to and still "snap back"?

Yes it will spring back to its original dimensions if stretched. I was able to stretch a one inch section of spring about 2.5 times it's original length.

I believe as with all steel it will eventually do. Mine hasn't, but I treated it with a very fine coat of 3 in 1 oil, which reduces or better said, slows down the oxidation process.

Could this be wrapped around a headphone cord, or is this too big in diameter?

I don't know what exactly what you want to do with it, and what you mean by wrap it around the cord, but if you intend to insert the cable inside, and no plug will fit; you could try to separate the first coil and then slide the cable around, but the meterial is too strong and stiff and will be too heavy and dificult to handle or move around.Hope this helps

Better than a box of springs

Great for fixing a broken spring in a kitchen corner cupboard. Cut a length and then gradually shorten it to increase the tension until it closes properly. You will need some pliers and patience but it is better than buying a new corner unit.
