Remarkable insight in today's world
Some friends and I decided to do this study following a study of the life of King David, The story of David can seem harsh, but to balance it with a study of the Psalms can give some perspective. Even though originally published in 1987 (revised and reprinted in 2000) this study has given remarkable insight in today's world as if it were a commentary on life today, but with truth and wisdom. It's simple to follow and will work well for group or individual study. The Introduction is worth the purchase of the book. Though only 12 Psalms are studied in this book, the principles for studying all the Psalms are laid out in the Introduction.

Prayer begins with purposeful pursuit of God
Definitely a good read and exercise in growing a prayer life beyond just information. Intentional devotion to prayer makes a world of a difference

Higher level thinking questions needed
Many of the questions in this study are closed ended. They are leading into one way of thinking, and do not promote open discussion. Once the obvious is stated, we look at each other and have a "now what?" moment and then...move on. If the questions were rewritten with a few little tweaks using higher level thinking questioning (which I'm starting to do myself for my class), I would rate this book a 5. The lesson flow is really set up well.

Wonderful study book
We're using this for our Ladies Connect Group (Sunday School) to study and it's working out wonderfully.

Teach Me to Pray
This is a nice introduction into the Psalms. Used the study guide as ... well, a guide and did more research on my own. Some of the people in our study had a hard time figuring out where the author was trying to take them. Some of the questions were irrelevant. In any case, we are finishing up this week and it was OK.

Cost of postage did not reflect weight of each book
I think it was quite unreasonable to charge the full postage cost for each booklet which could easily have been sent as a larger package. All the advantage of buying the books through Amazon was lost by the cost of postage which exceeded the cost of each book. I think the boks were £1.50 each approx and postage £2.50 each approx.I plan to but more of these books in this series and need to know how I can avoid such excessive postage costsTim Savege

Used multiple times in multiple settings
I've used this study three times. Once in a women's study, once in a seniors study and once as an outline for a sermon series on the Psalms. Each times it has proven directive enough to give insight and point to wisdom, yet open enough to insire good thoughtful responses. I found the two times I've used it in studies the response was tremendous. The questions are formed in a way that invites response and welcomes the variety of experiences of the reader in engaging the text. When I lost the first copy, I bought a replacement. Excellent!
