Pirates Don't Change Diapers

This is a very cute book just like it's predecessor how I became a pirate . Cute pictures and cute story my four-year-old grandson loves it

This book is perfect. My four year old daughter just loves it. She has me read it multiple times for bedtime.

The children in my class love this book. I am a Head Start teacher and the children request this funny book over and over again. They also like to pretend and act out the story on the playground - especially saying, “Arrr Matie, pirates don’t change diapers!”

Cute story. Bought used and the seller didn't mention it didn't come with the Dust Cover as shown in seller's description. A little disappointed in that part of it.

We don't have the first book, so I can definitely say that this book can stand on it's own merit. My 6 and 3 year old boys love this story. From the funny illustrations (just look at how many things those pirates practiced diapering) to the silly pirate greek chorus (they get to echo what Braid Beard, their captain says or what he orders them to do). The boys particularly seem to enjoy the results of the Captain's order to, "Rock on, me hearties." (Yes, there is air guitar involved, and you will laugh out loud when you seen the illustration). The utter helplessness of these poor pirates as they try to contend with babysitting Bonney Anne is charming. We have read this story several times over the past couple of months and it's as enjoyable for me as it is for them.

When we received the first book as a gift for my kids (3 and 5), we loved it so much we read it every day. My kids were repeating the pirate "quotess" and it was a great time..."A good one to Boot!"Then, we discovered that she released a sequel...the Pirates come back. I had to get it. We read it the minute it arrived and the same thing happened. My kids LOVE this book also. Honestly, my wife and I love both books also. We have recommended them to so many friends and to the school.This author not only has managed to take a current fad (pirates) and make a fun story out of it, but she has also made it clean, wholesome, funny, and with great graphics and high quality print. Worth every penny in my opinion.

Not as great as a the first book - but my 4 year old asks for this quite a bit, so I'm glad I bought it. Some of the language in the book is more complex or hard for a preschooler to follow - and not in the way of "good vocabulary" building, more in the way of "confusing run-on pirate talk." But because he asks for it to be read, and the illustrations are great, I gave it 4 stars.

Great 2nd story to How I Became a Pirate. Illustrations exceptional just like the first book. Will keep younger and older readers extremely amused. Repeat after repeat. Tip-Top, A+ must-have for any kids' book collection.My only "issue" is that the cover shown (and the title which should have been kept) is on the book jacket ONLY. See what it looks like once jacket is removed (which most parents will do). Maybe not all of those printed look like this?

This is just the thing for my grandson who loves tales of pirates and has a baby sister. Good illustrations.

A really great children's story. My kids and I both love this story! Make sure you read the pirate parts in a pirate voice!
