OXOGood Grips Turkey Baster, Red

So while I love using these basters in the kitchen when I'm cooking I actually needed something for my fishtanks. I'm currently dealing with a new shipment of neocaridina shrimp that have parasites. When they molt you need to remove the molt immediately to get the eggs of the parasite out of the water as they are laid inside of the exoskeleton. I needed a long baster to reach the bottom of the tank...and here we are. It's very durable, the perfect length to reach the bottom of my Fluval spec 5 gallon and I can use it with pin point precision to make sure I don't suck up any of the microscopic baby shrimp on accident. I highly suggest having one of these on hand to anyone that has tanks even if it's just for getting left over food or crud off of the substrate to keep things looking tidy.

This is my second purchase of this item. I had one for about 10 years and loved it. Recently it lost suction power so this purchase was to replace the old one. I got lazy with the old one and just started putting it in the dishwasher for cleaning, and think that I weakened the rubber bulb. Of course after 10 years it might have just been caused by age. I will hand wash the rubber from now on just to be safe.

Overall a good baster, the plastic is not cheap and has yet to crack in the dishwasher like my previous one. All the pieces have withstood at least 10 dishwashing cycles so I would consider it pretty durable. I do wish the bulb was somehow larger and had more suction power, but as someone who is obsessed with kitchen gadgets it is unlikely you will find something better

I used this to pull coolant and brake fluid out of their reservoirs, very useful, does its job well, I recommend for auto stuff at least. I have no intentions of using this one for a turkey, lol.

I recently reviewed a whisk I purchased from OXO and will say the same thing here. Like all other products I've purchased from them over the years, this baster does not disappoint. I've had some duds in past years, and it really can make or break the thanksgiving turkey experience. The suction on this baster is excellent and clean up is easy! I expect this baster to last for years to come, much like the other products I have in my kitchen from OXO.Thank you!

If you're looking for a great turkey baster, this is one is amazing! It is very well made and so easy to clean! I replaced an older model turkey baster–you know they type: the metal tube with the black bulb that fell apart every time you squeezed the bulb and then you'd watch, and maybe even be burned by, hot turkey drippings that exploded and flew everywhere? That just has not happened to me with this Oxo Turkey Baster. The top part of the bulb attaches the bottom half of the bulb and that attaches to the top of the tube. I know! Who ever heard of a two-part bulb? I didn't! But I'm very pleased by it. I look forward to many turkey holidays with this baby! Thanks Oxo!

This is an amazing baster! I use this for aquarium use. Most turkey basters end up leaking or falling apart easily. This is sturdy, easy to use, easy to clean, and is the best baster I’ve used in decades. This is a must buy for any basting!

I use this turkey baster to "dust off" the rocks in my salt water fish tank. It's really easy to hold and works well for what I use it for. The ring at the base of the ball makes it really easy to hold and pump the ball. It's longer than the average baster so that's nice too. Overall, great product.

Comes with a cleaning brush, easy to take apart and put back together, offers good suction, seems to be high quality.

Just as advertised. It might be expense, but it is extremely well built. I love it.
