Our Garden Wildlife
We bought this camera to replace a faulty Crenova camera. Crenova kindly replaced the camera first time it failed, but when the replacement started playing up I decided to get this Apeman camera. This one is better sealed against rain ingress, and has a front facing screen, so that you can preview the camera aim precisely, rather than the hit and miss method. Functionally, it is much the same as the previous camera. I don't find that the single movement sensor is a drawback compared with models that have forward and side sensors. The infra red LEDs do not show up at night, revealing the location of the camera as the Crenova did.EDIT Just received this email. I shall NOT be altering my review, I do have some principles and do not respond to bribery. Makes the whole review system pointless."Dear Richard,Thank you very much for your email! We really appreciate your support! May I know which thing we make you dissatisfied? So you just give us a 4 stars, we are trying hard to make you 100% satisfaction and want to send you the gift asap, could you please make the 4 stars to 5 stars? we will much appreciate.Have a nice day and wait for your reply.Demi"

Impressive Apeman H55 Camera
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My first H55 camera was faulty and it was returned. Because of Apeman's excellent customer support I re-purchased this same camera again because the spec fitted the bill for what I needed it for. I needed a 'no glow' undetectable camera. I purchased this camera for security to catch rubbish dumpers. At night it is completely invisible to the naked eye. There is no infra red glow or any other light to reveal the cameras presence. It is easy to set up. Well camouflaged. Appears to use little battery power. Records very good night time video and images. The day time video and images are quite good as well .... as you would expect. You have to remember this is not a top of the range 16mp slr camera costing thousands and this camera is only selling for just over £60.00. It shoots video and still images and shoots in the dark and in bad weather. It is movement activated and invisible at night. So for the money you get a magical box of tricks and perfectly acceptable good images. A range of approx 20 meters ...... and yes you do get that range even at night time.Placement is everything and I am learning with every use. It is the first time I have used these type of cameras and I am used to top of the range video and slr's. But so far I am quite impressed. It would be suitable for security and wildlife.Bad weather night time video supplied.UPDATE: Over 7 MONTHS.I now have 2 of these cameras and I take them down weekly to inspect the videos. There is always at least one video which is enlightening to say the least every week from each camera. Its amazing what animals you see and what people get up to around your property.Anyway they have worked perfectly and I have replaced the batteries twice in that time but taken thousands of 30 second videos of between 60 and 150 videos from each camera weekly. You learn to reposition the camera in different places to lessen the amount of times you get 'false' trips on the camera. This will happen from twigs to blades of grass in the wind. These 'false' trips lessen the battery power. Birds landing on the camera you can really do nothing about but this happens often and sets off the camera as they flutter about.Another tip is ... know your range. I had one of my cameras being set off by vehicles on the road which were over 20 meters away. But when a something big went past it was either picked up or its shadow set off the camera.I also use another make of camera in similar price range which is not so good.I think this Apeman camera is great especially at the price they are now.UPDATE: 20 MONTHS4 CAMERAS and all are still working perfectly except for the same issue which has developed after 18 months. The time and date is stuck on 00.00 and will not adjust. But filming and detection is still the same. Batteries can be an issue with 100 detection's per week on each of the 4 cameras. Apeman need to get a rechargeable 18650 battery in them.UPDATE: 24 MONTHSOne of the 4 cameras has now started to work intermittently. So that is now no good. I think this could be the detection sensor as all else appears fine when it does record. All other cameras except one suffer from the time/date not working and stuck at 00. Besides that they are in operation 24/7 and are taken down every week to unload and reset etc. I have noticed some moisture in the battery compartment after hard rain but this does not stop their operation. On one camera there is a few dead pixels dotted around the video. But again it and they keep banging along. (except for one).UPDATE: 25 Months..ishSadly one of the suspect cameras has decided to eat batteries as if it was its last meal.So 2 of the cameras in some way or another have become non functional at approx the 2 year mark. Approx £50 over 2 years....... Is that good or bad? But these type of cameras use a lot of batteries if used constantly and tripped 100 times per week as mine are. That is probably quite excessive use?May try another brand of updated spec or another same Apeman. Need rechargeable batteries as cost of Duracells a killer when used as security cameras as I use mine.LAST UPDATE FEB 2021:I tried 2 of Apeman's newer cameras. I prefer these H55's and here are the reasons. They are directional so when you install them you can see exactly where they are pointing instantly without messing around. This is because the front cover opens and not the front of the camera containing the lens. The lens is inside the camera and protected by the front cover. The lens opening and protective glass is recessed so rain water or condensation does not hang over the lens making the video unviewable because water is on the lens. This is a good idea because rain drops on the lens makes a camera useless in bad weather which can be a fair amount of time. They are 'no glow' which means they do not shine infra-red at night. So basically you cant see them at night. They do not give themselves away when triggered. Very few people have ever even noticed them in the daytime. But location adds to that. There are other features, but I never used them.Their downsides .....If triggered many times per week as mine are, their battery life can be excessive. This can be offset with rechargeables. The mounting bracket needs rust proofing because it goes rusty quick. No sd card. They lasted approx 2 years. The first one I ever had was faulty and was replaced no problem. They have worked for me and I had 4 in total working together.

Simple and Fun!
We purchase this camera recently as we wanted to find out what animals pass through our garden at night. The camera arrived here in just 1 day after ordering it – great service. We are extremely pleased with the camera. It was easy to set up and the quality of the photos/videos is excellent. We like the fact that not only is it easy to move it round the garden but also the ability to use it as a security camera. To date we have only used it overnight and we have discovered we have 4 hedgehogs and 2 foxes lurking at night, we are hoping to capture some of the birds which visit the bird table in winter as the food we put outside disappears instantaneously. The good points are its mobile you can put it anywhere you want, its rainproof, dustproof, dropproof and its easy to install. The design looks nice and its camouflage in appearance which makes it difficult to see between trees.
