A Perfect & Natural Finish for a Variety of Woods
Update 2023-07-28A little over three years later, this walnut oil remains a staple in my supply cabinet for all wood working. It is hands down the best walnut oil I've used! When heated lightly and a mix of beeswax and carnauba wax is melted in, you'll get an excellent surface finish that's long-lasting and looks amazing! My preferred mix is (by weight for each)- 80% Walnut Oil- 15% Beeswax- 5% Carnauba WaxMelt on low until both the beeswax and carnauba wax is melted in, then stir the mixture until well-mixed. Apply immediately while still warm. If you begin to see the wax solidify, re-apply heat and apply.Best of all, you can keep the unused mixture and reheat again later.Original ReviewHaving gone through gallons of walnut oil in the last year alone, I can honestly say that this is by far the best I've used. Unlike most bulk walnut oil, this one is not bleached or deodorized, thus the color and aroma remains intact and the resulting finish is deep and rich in color. As long as your wood is properly dried, absorption is quick and you only need a few light applications.I've used this oil as both a standalone and in a custom wood butter blend to finish off a number of pieces where I want the natural look of the wood to be the central focus.I've applied to walnut, cherry, red/white oak, hard/soft/tiger maple, and purple heart. In the photo, you'll see a few segments -- the bottom is walnut, the top (lighter) is cherry. My only wish is that this was available in 64-128oz jugs -- the 32oz bottles are too small and can be costly if you're using this often.

Great Product. Good Price
The oil was easy to apply, and looks great! Because we are sensitive to toxins such as those used in paints and stains, we really appreciated this natural option. We also like the fact that the oil did not smell bad.

Good quality oil
I purchased this walnut oil to use on my wood turning projects. It is a quality product at a fair price. It doesn't change the color of the wood ,it just enhances the natural beauty and characteristics of the wood. Food safe on items that require it and no awful smells that linger and ruin the project and very easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product from Chalk Mountain.

Very good product
It “stained” our butcher block nicely. I still needed to buy a separate mineral oil to seal it.

Beautiful on butcher block counters
Love this walnut oil! I applied it to my butcher block counters and it gave it this beautiful rich look. Moisturized it and is staying sealed well! I am constantly wiping down my counters and they don’t look any different from the day I applied the oil. Great product at a great price. Looking forward to using it on my future wood projects: cutting boards, spoons and tables

Great Protection
I have used this on my knives and cutting boards and am very pleased with the results. It does darken the wood a lot but that doesn't bother me as long as the wood is being protected. Planning to do all of the handles on our kitchen utensils.

Beautiful finish
I really like this product. I used the 32oz to finish a large island and was able to get 4 coats out of the bottle. Follow the directions....apply a heavy coat and let it rest 12 hours. The wood will drink it up. I used an organic staining process with coffee, the walnut oil added a fabulous depth to the coffee color. I finished with a beeswax buff.I've seen reviews on this and similar products indicating odd smells or seepage. I've had zero issues.I would absolutely use this again.
