## Description

The Master Lock Magnum M175XDLF Heavy Duty Outdoor Combination Lock features a 2in (51mm) wide zinc body for strength and reliability. The 3/8in (10mm) diameter octagonal shackle is 1-1/2in (38mm) long and made of Tough-Cut boron-carbide, 50% harder than hardened steel, offering maximum resistance to cutting and sawing. The roller pin cylinder provides maximum pick and pry resistance. The hinged dial cover and shackle seal offers superior weather protection, and reinforced body bumper protects against scratches. The lock includes set your own combination convenience, without the need for a reset tool. The Lifetime Guarantee provides peace of mind from a brand you know and can trust.

Review: Recommended. - Bought as like new or used: very good, but the plastic bumper ring around it was broken, more cosmetic than functional, I believe it was going to break eventually anyway. If that's a concern, just rap some rubber bands around it. The lock is very sturdy and the rubber flap that covers the combination underneath appears to be sturdy enough, moreso than the plastic bumper ring. Works well, smooth operation, very sturdy, and the combination was easy to reset to one of my liking. I think I'll hose it down with spray lube to prevent deterioration once or twice a year. Could have chosen a cheaper knock off that would have worked well, the technology is not rocket science. I'm happy with the Master lock, I believe it's probably more refined than a cheaper alternative and some needed a tool to reset the combination which was about as desired as having to keep track of a key (not a desirable feature for me, partially defeats the purpose of this kind of lock: simple security if not top flight). The construction is top flight but a four digit combination, by nature is not, but I opted for simplicity. The construction, materials and sturdiness are excellent and maybe over the top for this kind of lock, but it's what I wanted. Looks very secure and in security: perception is reality 90%+ of the time.

**Q: I recently purchased one, but the four digit code on the packaging doesn't work to unlock it. What can I do?**
A: As of 5/2023, master lock says you are out of luck if one shows up and the preset code doesn’t open the lock.  I ordered this lock - code doesn’t work (I have a few of these, it’s not operator error), called master lock.  They say they can’t help.

**Q: How many digits are in the combination?**
A: 4 digits

**Q: Can anyone confirm that the numbers do not spin if unlocked, but show the combination? This is a huge security flaw on job sites where it will be left**
A: I DISAGREE with the two other posters.  I just had one delivered yesterday (8/13/19) and am returning it because, among other problems, once it's unlocked, you CANNOT rotate the numbers unless you return the shackle to the locked position.  If you leave the shackle open, the correct combination is there for anyone to see.

**Q: Is it possible to get a replacement rubber cover for the lock? It was delivered with that part missing.**
A: Don't bother.  It'll fall off within days or hours.  The rubber part holding it to the lock is very flimsy and flexible, so it won't stay on.  You'd have to super glue it.  Horrible design.  And the lock can be defeated in 30 seconds WITHOUT any tools.  Someone can identify your combination numbers in 30 seconds or less even if you scramble them.

Bought as like new or used: very good, but the plastic bumper ring around it was broken, more cosmetic than functional, I believe it was going to break eventually anyway. If that's a concern, just rap some rubber bands around it. The lock is very sturdy and the rubber flap that covers the combination underneath appears to be sturdy enough, moreso than the plastic bumper ring. Works well, smooth operation, very sturdy, and the combination was easy to reset to one of my liking. I think I'll hose it down with spray lube to prevent deterioration once or twice a year. Probably the best lock I’ve bought. It feels very solid, and the combination was easy to set. I use it on my backyard gate. The only issue is the black rubber cover on the bottom comes off too easily. Otherwise, great lock!
