Great product! Takes a few minutes to set up - lots of options on setup meant we had to reverse some choices, but nothing major - but once it’s installed it scans very quickly and very cleanly. This is the second one I’ve fought for the office and it saves us so much time I’m thinking we may need a 3rd one! If you need to scan & store docs I would absolutely recommend.Btw, rated low on portability as i don’t think it’s meant to be portable. Folds up nice and compact but I wouldn’t see it as a product to be hauled around

This brick has been sitting in my office for almost 2 years without being able to use it. It did not come with a setup disc or with a USB cable. I was finally able to dedicate some time to going to the fujitsu website and downloading the installer. Attempted wireless setup only to discover (after A LOT of time researching online), that you cannot install this wirelessly without first connecting it via USB cable. If you try to use the Wireless Tool, you are asked for the scanner's IP address. You cannot locate the IP address without connecting via USB cable. I've wirelessly connected quite a number of devices to my computer without ever having to manually connect them first. Garbage. I cannot believe the absence of the disc and USB cable is not mentioned anywhere in the product description. Complete waste of money.

This is the best scanner ever hands down

We have one of these models at the office. I was going to purchase the newest model however the reviews were not exceptional. This older model certainly lives up to its reputation for speed, accuracy, OCR capabilities, and handling of various paper thickness and quality. The software is all encompassing for many applications and the ability of the unit to scan photos though it is not a photo scanner is remarkable.

This is the second one of these I've purchased (this one is for our home office). They both work great and are very fast to scan most documents directly to PDF or JPG. Scanning both sides at the same time is awesome and saves a lot of time and user intervention.The first one I purchased (same model number, just updated software with this one) had software that scanned directly to a folder where I was able to keep adding documents and have them auto-number/name with no user intervention.The updated software requires that the user click "OK" for every new document. It really slows down an otherwise continuous process.Scanning small slips of paper or pages of different sizes is better suited to a flat bed scanner, but they are typically much slower, and require more user intervention (like accessing the software and having to flip the page for the back side of a document). I have been able to run ID's and other small documents with this ix500 so long as they are close to the same size, and even some where the sizes are different ... for example and invoice that is 8.5x11 followed by a check payment that is 3x7.I highly recommend this unit "ix500" and would give it 5 stars if the software were as good as the first one.

Awesome product. I love this little scanner, it’s just perfect for what we do. I ended up buying about five of these. It’s been discontinued and we just bought one of the replacement ones, that seems to be decent as well.

These are amazing scanners. I've been using one for three years. Always works. I love it.
