This door lock was very easy to fix. I love it

We bought this because our 3 year old has learned how to unlock and open the front door and likes to go "exploring" at all hours of the day and night (terrifying). These were easy to install and very easy to use. Too easy. Now, my 3 year old cannot figure these out for the life of him. They're perfect for him and my 19 month old. However, we have an 8 year old that figured them out in about 2 seconds. This wouldn't be a huge issue, since they're not for him, BUT, if he left them undone then our 3 year old could wander out and that defeats the purpose. Also, if our 8 year old got angry, he could lock someone out/in depending on which door the lever was on. In the end, we are going for something else for the doors that we wouldn't want anyone locked in/out of and that lead to the outside. But, these are perfect for doors like our front hall closet, linen closet, HVAC unit door, etc., where no one would ever be on the other side needing to get out/in.The adhesive is no joke, though. I about lost a finger trying to get it off once we decided to take it off the front door!

I love that you can lock this from the top or the bottom. My son is always trying to figure out this kind of stuff and he gave up on this one and doesn’t try anymore. Just make sure to not to lock yourself in a room! Hasn’t happened to us yet but I could see how it could happen. We keep a screwdriver in our room just in case we have to disassemble the lock. I think it’s kind of unavoidable for this kinds of door handle though.

Way to much play in the area for the door handle. There needs to be a way to move the arms up and down for different door handle types. My type of handle you can lift up or down to open. So if I position it higher to where it touches the bottom then it works great for pulling the handle down but if you lift the handle up the door opens. If I set it directly in the middle, my door can be opened either way. I choose to apply it high with the hopes it will keep my toddler out for awhile until he figures out how to simply lift up.If you could only adjust the little arms to be closer together it would solve the problem. This is makes for a very specific door. It will not work on all handle doors.

I bought them for my uber smart doberman who opens all the doors with ease. This device mostly keeps her where we want her. She occasionally gets out.

I have an 18 month old Houdini that has been able to figure out every door lock - either through ingenuity or brute force.The tears, and howls of frustration, have been music to my ears in this particular instance.The fact that the locks toggle on both the upper and lower make it them easy to use, provide a way to exit rooms and minimize the amount the ability for my son to get into rooms when we don’t want him to.Now - when he sees the lock on the door he huffs and keeps moving! It has significantly reduced the amount of fighting that we got into on a daily basis.I’d give these things 10 stars if the option was available.
