Very usefull

I have been trying to create a DVD from an analog source. I used the presribed Dazzle device to convert the video into a Pinnacle studio project. The resulting file was 7.8GB. The software has been fine in nearly every regard, accept that it doesn't successfully write a DVD that can be read by my DVD player. When viewing a DVD from my laptop, the menu system wasn't evident. I've tried both +R and -R DVDs to no avail. II've tried creating ISO, then burning the image. I've tried storing as VIDEO_TS files. Tech support has not responded to my inquiries, and the software error messages are worthless - they don't explain how to fix the problem, only that there was one. I suspect the problem lies in the conversion to a Less than 4.7GB result (the maximum for a DVD), but I haven't verified that yet.In short, I'm frustrated and unsatisfied. However, the editing is fairly straight forward, and creating playable files in common formats is easy and works just fine. If playable DVDs worked well, I would have given at least 4 stars, but the DVD creation was the reason for my puchase.

I've tried VideoStudio Pro 10, Power Director, Adobe Premier, and MagixX Movie Edit Pro Premium, and a few others. I also tried earlier versions of Pinnacle Studio including version 19. I had technical problems with the earlier versions of Pinnacle Studio and the interface was a pain, so it was a love/hate relationship. Now, at last, there is Pinnacle Studio 21 and here I feel as If I've found, after years of experimenting, my editing home. The interface has been radically improved and features added (also somewhat true of version 20). So far, I've not experienced any technical problems except for one crash in which the project I was working on was fully restored on restarting. I had settled on VideoStudio Pro because of its ease of use, but now I'm sold on Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate. It has the ease of use of VideoStudio Pro together with ease of use and the best effects. In addition, contrary to some old info on the net, support for the program is free, which it was not in the more distance past.

This is a full featured video editing software package. It has loads of features and is updated frequently. It is very stable but does have some issues where it stops executing code correctly. This happens sometimes after hours and hours of use. Sometimes the problem can be cleared up by clearing the rendering files and sometimes the software has to be terminated and then restarted. Overall I am happy with my purchase of this product.
