Great overview and insight
Great book that offers a broad and deep starting point on using MongoDB. Highly recommend. Obv. the documentation online will always be the more informative and up-to-date resource, but this book does an excellent job distilling all of that down into something consumable and understandable.

The BEST guide to MongoDB - updated for 4.2.
An excellent book on MongoDB. Well thought out with good examples that I could use IRL. I like how the book is partitioned - setting up MongoDB and then indexing, configuring, setting up clustering, admin and statistics. It flows very well.

New, no damage or marking
The book arrive sooner than expected. There were no marking or damage to the book.

Copies are stained with light machine oil
I do not know what is going on, but I have ordered two copies of this book, both of which have been stained with some sort of light machine oil. In both cases, the packaging has been in good condition. I imagine that the copies were near each other on a shelf, and so the oil was dropped on the books at the same time. I will have to purchase some other book in order to get what I need, since if I order a replacement I will get another copy from the same shelf, similarly stained. This is quite a disappointment.

More like a how-to than a formal introduction to MongoDB
O'Reilly used to be the gold standard for technology books, not any more. Surprised that even the language and grammar is not what it used to be.The flow and content is very much like a How-to. It is not a definitive guide.

En realidad la responsabilidad fue del empaquetador de AMAZON.El libro tiene pegado un cartón en la tapa imposible de sacar.Casi 50 Euros para recibirlo en malas condiciones, no está bien.

Best book, Its really definative
Mostly I like all O'Really books. But this one is really good for those who knows nothing and want to learn Mongo DB in depth from scratch. Little bit of JavaScript knowledge beneficial but not essential.

Excellent introduction to MongoDB
This book contains a wealth of useful information for MongoDB beginners and professionals. I am coming from a SQL Server background and liked some cross references to relational DBs which helped a lot in the beginning. Some JSON output reprinted in the book is hard to read.
